Hi guys... shopping for a new tv, and i really like the s60. i've never owned a plasma before, and i've been having trouble understanding some things about Hz and motion smoothing. i'm sure this is probably one of the most common questions on this forum, but after days of reading i'm still kinda confused, so here goes:
does the 600Hz drive on this tv have anything to do with motion interpolation? if not, does this model even have any motion interpolation features?
on all previous lcds i've owned, i've made sure to disable any interpolation feature because i simply don't like the look of the soap opera effect or the idea of the tv artificially creating frames that weren't in the original source. in making the transition to plasma, i've gathered that plasma will look smoother than lcd just by virtue of how the tech works without any picture processing. is this true?
given that i don't like the look of SOE, what are the key things to be aware of in plasma vs lcd. is SOE even a thing with plasma at all? what are the other common things i should be aware of in switching from lcd to plasma?
aside from all the above nonsense, my top priority for buying a new tv is picture quality. deep blacks, nice colors, full 1080p. i don't care about any smart tv features, and i don't need any picture processing beyond what's in the original source signal. the 50s60 is currently going for $700 at best buy here. is this the best picture $700 can currently buy? is there another model/brand i should check out before taking the plunge?
thanks in advance.
