Here goes another attempt by ABC. rolleyes.gif Pilot last nite was OK. Hopefully I'm not going to invest time in it just to see it disappear after a few weeks. mad.gif

Someone can post its ratings if so inclined.

I tried to watch it but just couldn't get into it.

I watched it pretty much because it stars Radha Mitchell, but given that this is ABC, it's a mid-season replacement and it airs against The Walking Dead in much of the country I'm going to guess it will get 3 airings before it gets the hook.

Watched it because of Mitchell too. Thought it moved too slow given that they killed the setup in every commercial. Don't see this lasting too long but if it holds some of the audience from whatever airs before it , then maybe it will hang on to season's end.

I tried to watch Red Widow but decided to give up after the first hour. I thought the story was silly, typical ABC drama fare, and that the cast was only ordinary. Even the talented Anson Mount bugged me with his weird ponytail. But even if I had liked him in the show, it wouldn't have mattered because his character was killed off in the first 50 minutes. I quit after deciding that I simply have too many choices of far better shows for sticking with Red Widow to make any sense. Spare us from midseason replacement series with B list stars.

Same here. Dumped it as it was basically no different than many other shows.

It seems that those of us with refined, discerning taste didn't much like Red Widow.smile.gif

It's basically what ABC does nowadays, a prime time soap with a twist in it. I haven't even watched Revenge in over 2 months, and I liked it the first season but this second just hasn't worked for me.

As long as Mount is free to return to 'Hell on Wheels' for another season as the awesome Cullen Bohannan, I'm okay with him and this show dying a quick death.

If anyone here enjoys Radha Mitchell, High Art is a pretty good film, it was my introduction to Mitchell, plus I think it was Ally Sheedy's best work.

You should probably stop watching now to avoid disappointment. It started out as poorly as Zero Hour....

Seems no one , discerning or otherwise, had much interest in Red Widow. As Network pointed out ratings were terrible. Agree with you gwsat, too many other things to watch or read, and in a few weeks we have GOT and Madmen.

We agree about Revenge. Like you, I quit on it during season 2. It just kept getting sillier and sillier.

+1! Mount had been great in Hell on Wheels. Has it been renewed? The last I heard, the jury was still out.

Although Radha Mitchell is not an A list star, she is not without talent. I thought she also did an excellent job in Finding Neverland. It appears to me that Mitchell, like Anson Mount, just got trapped in the mess that is Red Widow.

I try to avoid throwing any new series under the bus but Red Widow started so weakly, I was damn near offended.

I start watching a lot of these shows and it's like stopping to watch a car wreck. I know I should just keep going but can't help myself. eek.gif

Finally got around to watching the pilot last night and I think you guys are being too hard on Red Widow. Everyone in my household thought it was "pretty good" and I'll be recording tonights pt. 2 of the pilot. Much better than Zero Hour which we gave 2 tries, I'll give RW a few more shots(unless the network cancels it, in which case they will have made the decision) smile.gif

I finally caught the premiere and thought it was so-so (at best). Not that it's similar but a few times I was reminded of Weeds. Especially, with the older kid... I figure he would be running the show in a few weeks.

.

Haven't heard anything either. But AMC has been making a killing, so to speak, on 'The Walking Dead' so maybe they can afford to be merciful with 'HoW' and give Bohannan another season to get that damn railroad built.

I think it has been renewed for a third series, but it seems as if it's gone back and forth several times.

AMC Renews Hell on Wheels for Season 3, for Real This Time

Maybe my bar is low but I liked last nite's show.

I figured Bob was dead man walking when they brought him along.

This is starting to look like The Mob Doctor, which I liked, and will probably suffer the same fate. frown.gif

I'm enjoying the series, especially when watched commercial/bug/snipe free. AIUI, there are only 8 episodes (over 7 weeks).

Just watched the second episode........ and promptly deleted my Season Pass. I can see it turning into a adventure a week show which might be OK if I could believe it more. IMO the graphics are downright cartoonish(the shot of the container ship was really bad as well as the window shots as they drove to catch the truck carrying the container). I also though it was odd that they were able to cut open the container on the semi(nice they had a pair of bold cutters with rolleyes.gif) and no one noticed or cared eek.gif Lots of other trucks/truckers around any no one noticed someone using a bolt cutters and offloading a dozen boxes onto a van rolleyes.gif
OK I'll stop, I've deleted the Season Pass tongue.gif
Now back to my backlog of regularly scheduled programs.....
