Darn. Was hoping that annoying Jack became a giant's hors d'oeuvres in the extended cut. biggrin.gif

Agree that the trailer didn't sell it well. I ended up liking the story but wish that I had rented the BD. So hot and sticky out that I elected to stream it from Amazon prime. The dark scenes were milky looking and it had difficulty keeping up with the action. You really pay for convenience.

FWIW, I "liked" this movie more than Pacific Rim.rolleyes.gif

My kids want to see Pacific Rim. You didn't like it?

Is this movie appropriate for grade schoolers? My youngest daughter is eight and loves action oriented animation movies. We just saw Epic and she liked it more than Despicable Me 2. Guardians of Ga Hoole was no problem.

Can anyone compare these?

I don't think Jack is appropriate for someone that age.
A little too gruesome IMO.

That's a lot of work. How about throwing a brotha a link?

It finally hit RedBox so we rented it a few days ago. I wasn't expecting a whole lot out of it, but found it to be entertaining. It was better than I expected which is pretty much as much as I could ask for.

Yeah, sometimes hard to tell by the trailers. Would be nice to have a seamless branch and take your pick - G, PG, R...NR cool.gif

Watched this last night with my seven year old and no issues. Tone was pretty light for this and violence was either cartoonish or off camera. Very enjoyable audio. Nice LFE and very active, and enveloping, surrounds.
