Since this new one appears to be shady, I'm posting a similar inquiry (sorry if this is a hijack!)...
I've done some heavy searching but can't seem to find a definitive comparison of the VT50 to Pioneer's 151FD. D-Nice has good things to say about the VT50, which is reason to believe it's the real deal, but I'm torn between a used 151FD that was professionally calibrated and well taken care of for $2500 and a new P55VT50 for $1600.
Benefits of the 151FD: 5" of diagonal space, slightly better black levels (how much? According to reviews it's noticeable in only the darkest of scenes, but that's about it) , higher-quality components.
Benefits of the VT50: $900 savings (seriously, I will not use the 3D and could care less about apps since I have other devices for those)
What would you guys do?
