Call me crazy, but I LOVE these connectors if they're anything like those found on hi(gher)-end/output speakers/subs, like these (mouse over the connectors):

Very robust, fantastically easy to use and secure...and will take up to 10G wire for the overkill set. Personally, I've never understood the rabid obsession banana plugs get...they are MUCH more prone to popping out before a secure bare wire connection, are just another link in the connection that can fail, are not more likely to achieve a solid connection, and cost more money.
Well, I guess I DO get it: sounds like a AV hobbyists wet-dream after the aforementioned.
