Spiderman(?) “sub crawl” The room is 9’10” wide 11’ deep 8' ceiling. less than 900ft3. I’ve been “REW”ing (great thread) and for a perhaps constructive break reverted to basics and set up a sub crawl, with my Klipsch sub 10. I put my Onkyo 270 on manual level calibration to the sub tone output, and set the volume to get a spl reading of 75(or so) with the rs meter just above the center of the sub.
This about as close to MLP as I coud get.
Picture 1 is the set up.
Then I crawled, holding the meter while I did. Picture 2 is the doorway is where it sounded best/loudest 84 db. My ears are 63 inches from the ground. There IS space to place the sub over the door on a solid (or not) (or modified) (suggestions?) platform.
The width is is 40 + inches and depth 27 or so. There is no WAF. The sub measures 16 wide x19 deep so there’s some wiggle room with respect to the port and how close it is to a surface.
Question for the seriously/ terminally addicted/infected: How about 2 15''s in an IB construct vented to te attic crawl space? I can build and power anything.

I just answered this in another thread:

If you have no WAF you can do what's actually best. This is rare, embrace it! biggrin.gif

Thank you Ethan. I've seen your input( everywhere) be consisitent and based in the best science. I'll proceed with REW protocols for recording and charting as per the REW thread and then develop a set according to your room measuring series article. There are some minor differences and the comparison may be revealing and helpful for tuning this small room. . IF the subwoofer did go over the door, there is a corner available for a "pink fluffy floor to ceiling super chunk". With some skill after dinkin' around in the man cave I want to tackle my big room 15 x20 ish and beyond. That rooms I run with an Onkyo 818.
