Possible to put rear ported surround into the wall?

Hi I have a 5.1 audyssey system and I'm in a dilemma for my side surround speakers. As shown in the pic below, the right surround is dangling in the pathway and it is visually distracting. Can I cut a square in the wall and place these speakers in it so that its huge dangling presence is mitigated? It is a polk 35b bookself speakers iwht a 1.5" rear port. Or would you recommend buying a stand and putting it behind the couch as shown? will audyssey be able to compensate?

You dont want to put speakers not intended for in wall use ...in-wall. There are plenty of in-wall speakers though. For an inexpensive example check out monoprice.

I would not recommend cutting wall and put them in there ,that will change the sound of the speaker, and you only got 3.5":, what gonna hold em inside ? You might as well go with a polk in wall if your gonna cut holes. Rear ported book shelf were not Desined to go in walls.. it will Sound different.. I would go with stands on side or just do rear cieling in walls, those are nice option
