Upgrade opinions

I currently have the following setup in my "living room"

At this point I'm really only concerned with upgrading audio.

Projector is a Optima HD33 on a Elite Screens 106.
1st Plasma is a Panasonic 50" about 3-4 years old.
2nd Plasma is a 50" Samsung that's about 6 months old.
The video in the setup really all seems fine to me. I'm sure it could be greatly updated, but for watching the occasional football/basketball/baseball games it's more than fine. The projector does get used for movie watching occasionally.

My receiver is a Yamaha RX-V1800, now with all the t.v.'s it the room the receiver really only gets used for audio processing, it does no video switching. That's all handled by a hdmi matrix. The receiver basically just always stays on the same hdmi input. It supports DTS-HD and TrueHD I'm not sure what the point of upgrading it would be other than just getting more power or cleaner power? Honestly it sounds pretty good as it is, and gets damn loud.

The front speakers are JBL L890's that are Bi-Ampd.

Center is a JBL LC1 - I feel this could be lacking? the L890's really over power it.

Sub is a JBL L8400P - could use a 2nd? Just a different unit?

Rears are infiniti TSS-SAT1200CHR - I'm limited on space, and they need to be wall mounted... these are probably lacking too.

At this point I'm mostly concerned about music. 5.1 movies is a 2nd consideration. What would give me the most improvement for stereo, then 5.1? Opinions are appreciated.

Thanks!

Without some sort of budget, it's gonna be hard for anyone to make recommendations for you.

I'd like to keep it I under 2k... which should open up my options quite well if mu reciever is sufficient.

Sounds like you're happy with your AVR and front speakers. So, the $2K is for center, surrounds and sub (be it additional or replacement)?

With 2 plasmas and a projector in the same room, am I safe in assuming this is your "man cave" and mostly used for communal sports viewing and music during parties/social gatherings?

What exactly is it you feel is lacking with your current setup?

What are the dimensions of the room? Pics would be great.

If the center is being over powered by the towers, could be placement issues (picture of your front sound stage could help). Or could be an upgrade to the LC2 would help.

If you upgrade your towers to another brand, you will need to replace the center with the one that matches. It's important for the front sound stage speakers to timbre match. Using your current center with a different brand of speakers up front could make your current problem worse.

And yes. Dual subs can help to smooth the frequency response throughout the room.

So what is that you would want out of new towers for music listening? What kind of improvements?
