According to my interpretation of this post, all licenses have been sold. Your still welcome to verify for yourself

Just heard of a great way to get discounted Windows 7 x64 OEM licensing from a volume discount

Home - $50
Pro - $60
Ultimate - $70

and

5x Home - $200

If interested, there is also XP Pro for $20

LINK

Also worth mentioning

Windows Server OEM 2008 Standard (r2 1-4 CPU 5clt) - $300

Should be a great way for us to help people on the fence get into HTPC however possible.

Stay tuned. More details to come.

We are setting up an exclusive link and webpage on our website.

What I envision is being able to download each version directly from us or Microsoft. Then we send you the license key(s). If time allows I will make a free guide showing even the newbie how to install it from a USB.

We are really thrilled to be able to offer this at what we feel is a very reasonable price. All products are 100% genuine and will be recognized as such once activated.

If anyone is interested in the interim until we get the link and webpage setup send me a PM.

Sounds like a nice offer!

FYI, I found the Maximum PC article on installing Win7 from USB very easy to follow and well put together. I wouldn't waste too much time reinventing the wheel from scratch.

Are these keys for upgrades or new full installation (I have one of each planned)? Are they limited to the USA?

Full install. Should be good anywhere in the world.

Thank you.
One last question: is this an ongoing deal or a limited time offer?

Ongoing deal. Until they run out at least.

(This also works for creating a Windows 8, Server 2008, Server 208 R2 and Server 2012 USB install despite the name of the program used.)

Caution: If you are creating an x64 install, run the tool from an x64 system or you will get a bootsect error at the end and the USB drive will not be bootable. This can also be done manually but it's beyond the scope of this tutorial.

  1. Get a blank 4GB or larger USB drive (or one with files you don't want to keep).
  2. Download and install the Windows 7 USB/DVD Download tool:
  3. Run the tool and select the ISO file of the OS installation then click "Next":

  4. Select "USB device":

  5. Select the USB drive to which you want to burn the OS installation files then click "Begin Copying":

  6. If there are files already on the drive, you will get a popup that says "Not enough free space". Even you there is enough free space on the device, it still needs to be erased (they really should have worded the error better). Go ahead and select "Erase USB Device":

  7. You will be asked for confirmation to erase the drive. Go ahead and click "Yes" if you are sure there are no files you want to keep on the drive:

  8. The drive will be formatted and the contents of the ISO copied to the drive:

  9. Once completed, simply close the program, remove the USB drive and use it to install your OS in the machine of your choice.

Those are some pretty darn good prices there, if I say so myself!

I put together a quick tutorial/guide before I saw Vladd's. I might merge the two together. (Thanks Vladd!)

I am also going to download and host all the Windows versions on the server. That way there are 2 sources available for download.

The new free guide is located here: Download and Install Windows from a USB (or burn to a DVD)

Everything is negotiable but it may not always be in your favor. I'm sure he would let you have it for $99

I believe you have to sell the N model in the EU. The version of Windows with the browser ballot. The last thing you want is a fine from the EU, I'm not sure you are selling enough for them to bother though.

Wouldn't waste the extra myself, but for comparison's sake http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/products/compare#T1=tab01

Pro adds integrated RDP, XP compatibility (don't know of anyone who needs this for HTPC), and backup to network shares (without a hack)

Ultimate (in addition to Pro) adds "BitLocker" and a bunch of useless language packs. (Of course, the languages could be very useful to others)

Pro is my favorite

Was thinking about building another box this year, but I've used up all 3 licenses from my family pack and wasn't looking forward to dropping another $100. $50 sounds MUCH more palatable... smile.gif

-edit-
Home = "home premium" (i.e. with WMC), right?

Thanks for the advice! Professional it is!!

Although I did just kinda wanted to see the "Ultimate" words under the icon.
