Personalize MPC-HC with LAV Filters and MadVR to my specs

So I have looked thru all pages for the (MPC-HC Adavanced Setup Guide on this and several other sites) and there are so many thoughts as to setup. SO, here is my setup, and I would appreciate some help on the best settings to use for MY SETUP. I realize there may be better options for those that offer advice but I am looking for a setup for my specific HT configuration.

I will be using this to watch bluray rips and dvd rips(MKV & MP4). All the bluray rips have lossless audio(True-HD, DTS-HD MA), or AC3, Dolby Prologic 2.

I have mpc-hc with madvr and lav filters currently. I have it setup using the numerous guides I have seen on the net. Here is my HTPC system setup. Followed by my receiver and tv.

AMD A8-3870k
8gb ram
EVGA GT640 2gb card (I know, I know. Why the AMD A8-3870k cpu with integrated grpahics but I have an nvidia gpu. I just happened.)
60gb SSD for programs and OS
2tb 7200rpm drive for movie storage

Denon AVR-1912
Samsung LN46A750 HDTV

The pc is connected to the receiver via dvi to hdmi cable from the video card. The receiver is connected via a monster hdmi cable.

I am still trying to figure out the optimal settings for my setup but this is all so new to me. I have been using vlc player up until a week ago. I am basically just looking for optimal settings and whether madvr should be used over lav filters for video. Just need some advice. Thanks so much

First ditch GT 640, that's almost pointless (additional power, imprecise 23Hz, no PQ improvement). Make sure memory is dual channel mode. Install AMD driver 13.1 (both graphics and chipset).

AMD Vision Engine Control Center

- Video > Color > Advanced Video Colors: disable all options.
- Video > Quality > Video Quality: disable all options except for deinterlacing and pulldown detection.
- My Digital Flat-Panels > Pixel Format > Full RGB is recommended (and set your display to it too, of course).

LAV Video Decoder

- Hardware Decoder to use: DXVA2 (copy-back) or DXVA2 (native) if it is connected directly to madVR

LAV Audio Decoder

- Bistreamig Formats: check all.

madVR

- devices
-- display connected to Denon AVR-1912
--- display mode: add "1080p23, 1080p24, 1080p59, 1080p60" (without quotes) in "list all display mode madVR may switch to".
- scaling algorithms
-- chroma upsampling: Bicubic 75 + AR (or M-N for softer upscaling)
-- image upsampling: Lanczos 3 + AR (or anything except for Jinc).
- rendering
-- general settings
--- use a separate device for presentation (Vista and newer): checking this will reduce GPU load greatly.
-- smooth motion: unchecked unless you have 25fps contents.

So ditching the GT640 and instead running the AMD is better suited for my purposes? Why?

Oh, and I will try out those settings you mentioned and report back. Thanks a million.

Interesting... never knew about this before. What exactly is the purpose of doing this?

Automatic refresh rate change based on the framerate of the content.

A caveat is that this won't work with telecined contents: The refresh rate will be 59Hz with a 3:2 telecined 29fps content and 50Hz with a 2:2 telecined 25fps content (when your display supports 25Hz and 50Hz and you add "1080p25" and "1080p50" too). A workaround is add the tag "deint=ivtc" (without quotes) in the file name. Inability to automatically distinguish between telecine and interlacing is one of the remaining problems of madVR.
