Sub to pair with Cambridge S30

Hello everyone. I recently ordered a pair of Cambridge S30 bookshelf speakers and the matching center channel S50. I'd really like to get a sub to go along with them in my effort to build toward a 5.1 system. (I am thinking about getting S20's for the rears)

Do you guys have any recommendations for a budget sub that would pair nicely with the Cambridge series? Is there even such a thing? (Please excuse my ignorance)

What to you is "budget"? $100? , $500?, $10,000?

I guess I figured my choice in buying the S30s would frame my budget. I suppose my budget would be < 300 but would love to spend less. Honestly, I don't know much and am curious if I need to expand my budget to experiance a nice compliment to the S30/S50/S20 setup. Sorry if this is a dumb question. I just don't know where to start my search as a noob. Thanks for any guidance you can provide.

Any sub whose upper end rolls off at least at the point where the speakers' bottom ends roll off will pair well with your speakers.

A couple of generalizations:
- If your room is fairly large, you may want a larger / more powerful sub.
- If you're looking for a sub that is more "musical" or "articulate", you may want to spend a bit more and get a better sub vs. spending less and getting a decent "all-purpose" (HT & music) sub.

$300 will get you the popular Klipsch RW-12d (when on sale at Newegg.com...which it currently is).
