And like someone else mentioned, between now and the end of march, you get $10 for a $50 purchase, so you're getting it for $40. It's a great deal.

I hate it when people do this. The cost is still $50 for Plus. You have to pay $50 and they do not give you a $10 bill back, they just give you a credit for $10. You are still out of pocket $50. You might as well say that they pay you $300 when you get Plus because you get all kinds of free games with it...

Yeah, because you can't use that $10 at a later time or anything....

Try using the $10 to buy groceries later. You paid $50, end of story. The value you get is something else altogether. The good news is that marketers love you.

This may be one of the dumbest things I've ever heard, but ok. You get money back to use at a later time, if you don't see the value in that then I don't know what to say.

Spend $50 on something you want, and your next purchase of something you want will be discounted by $10. End result? You saved $10 on stuff you wanted. What's the problem? confused.gif

Yeah, it gets a lot of people and is actually a poor/bad deal if you weren't going to spend money and they roped you in.

Still, if you were planning on spending that in the first place, it's still a good deal / discount.

If you don't see yourself spending $10 in the PSN Store in the next year, then a one-year PS Plus membership probably isn't for you.

By the way, PSN is crediting back $10 for every $50 spent this month. I fail to see why that's not a good thing for those who have a lot of purchases in mind, or misleading as marketing technique.

Someone comes to the PS3 subforum after gaming exclusively on the Xbox, asking for tips on what PS3 games to play....and we're going to have an argument about controllers? Not a great way to endear someone to a new community of gamers.

Folks, these are GAMING consoles, not religions or political parties...

The $10 is exactly like a gift card to a department store. If you don't shop there often, it has no value. Even worse because you can't sell/give it to someone else.

It's not the same thing as $10 back, but it's definitely better than nothing! And you can buy other things besides games on the store, and of course the whole thing is designed to tempt you to spend more. At least it's not stupid points like on Live.
