You mean the 7400? wink.gif

So, even though the website says $2,600 and when I scan the QR code to "get price quote" it says the same thing, if I show up to the store and ask for one, itll ring up as $899????? Im thinking im in for a drive this weekend. Does it come with the glasses and magic remote as well? Hell of a deal. Any thoughs of price during the holidays (i.e thanksgiving, black Friday, and cyber Monday)?

Thanks for the reply too!

Do I have to go INTO the store to get the sale? Im pretty far away from one of those stores, but would like to see if Best Buy would price match.
I called Microcenter, talked to a real person and confirmed the cheaper price - no way to tell from their website. Best Buy would NOT price match because they said it was too low, some lame line about an agreement with LG to not sell it that cheap. I said "whatever" and drove to Microcenter.

Yep, that's what I paid. It includes 4 pairs of glasses + the magic remote.

Im going to give them a call tomorrow then just to double check and make sure its in my area. Man, im getting excited. I just hope the panel I get wont have as many uniformity issues as other people have claimed. I realize the black levels wont be as great as a plasma, but for the price and everything else you get in/with the tv, Im feeling pretty confident. Best Buy sucks, Iv never had great luck with them. Most of the employees iv come across asking for their "professional" opinion were either just plainly wrong or had no idea what they were talking about. Id never even heard of MicroCenter before last weeks research session, so hoping for the best! Thank you for the reply!

Also, just to be clear, the 47" inch and 55"inch come with the silver frame and underneath the glass bezel whereas the 60"inch gets the thicker black bezel? I talked to an LG rep yesterday and he confirmed, but some review websites show pictures with the thicker black bezel and stand but with the 55LA7400 title. Im going to get the 55inch, but just want to make sure that it has the silver frame and the thin .25" inch bezel.

Yes - 7400 - did that a lot on search for reviews too - Made it a bit more difficult to get information

The 55 has the silver frame

Haven't noticed any uniformity issues with the one that I picked up from the Marietta, GA store

Lots of reflection when the TV is off but I don't notice when watching something - Just picked it up yesterday so still working on the settings

I haven't had issues streaming a HD movie but watching a 3D from Netflix caused some buffering issues

I can deal with the reflection when the tv is off, as long as it has a pretty good picture when its on. How is it over all, you're pretty happy? I got a little worried when I read some articles saying 4k TVs will be cheaper soon, but something about the distance you sit from the tv is what gives the 4k its beauty and since most people don't sit far enough away, it wont make a different for the average person.

I'm very happy with the picture quality on the TV

This is the first 3D set that we have owned and I'm was impressed with the quality I was seeing while watching The Hobbit from HBO on demand

It is in a 2 story great room so we get quite a bit of light but still a great picture

Awesome, good to hear! Im excited biggrin.gif

Is this a matte or glossy screen?
I believe its more glossy. Itll be reflective in well lit areas, so keep that in mind. Ill have one window directly facing the tv, but as far as I can tell, ill be ok with it. Most of the time ill watch it at night anyway so it shouldn't be an issue.

Thanks to guys who confirmed time machine is still locked up. This feature was the reason why i got 2 older lg tvs for my house as an ability to stop and pause any program you watch is very convenient - i did cut the cord long time ago and no longer pay for cable.
It is too bad they keep it locked out. This feature was an only reason to buy LG TV instead of other competition

I agree on the appeal of the Time Machine feature. As an over-the-air user, it would be a great feature to have. I am still hoping someone will crack the code for enabling this in the USA. If someone in a country that has it enabled would post a picture of the secret menu that has this feature in it, that might be enough to help us figure it out.

The screen is like a semi-gloss. It's not as matte as our old Toshiba LCD, but it's not as glossy as a glass screen.

The voice function on my magic remote is not working. I keep getting a message I need to run setup. My network is connected. Has anyone else had trouble with this or know a fix for this problem?

Amazon offers a 30-day return period; Best Buy only offers a 15-day return period. Plus, Amazon is almost always cheaper.

If you go to Best Buy on two separate occasions and talk to two different salespeople, you will often get conflicting information.
So true. Plus I feel more confident buying things from amazon after being able to read different peoples opinions on the same thing -the good and the bad. I wonder what might happen if I ask two separate Best Buy employees the same thing (and end up with conflicting ideas), then bring them together and ask the same question again.... The world might end eek.gif

How is Micro Center in regards to returning things? Im probably going to stop by there on Saturday and hope they still have an LA7400 in stock for me, but I have no idea to expect because Iv never been there before. Never even heard of it before a week or two ago!

Also, how quick does the smart menu pop up? I mean, if I click the button to open it, do I wait a second or too, or is pretty immediate? Same question to exiting the smart menu
post #708 of 1201
micro center told me I had 30 days to return it.

I checked stock on the web site and reserved for in store pick up before I went there.

I see about a 2 sec delay on pressing the smart button prior to the screen coming up - immediate to close.

Does anybody know how to activate the xvYCC feature on this tv?

Can I plug in a third party Bluetooth device for use of a Bluetooth keyboard or does it have a specific LG dongle?

http://www.amazon.com/Medialink-USB-Bluetooth-Adapter-Technology/dp/B004LNXO28/ref=pd_sim_e_6

I know the LA7400 has Bluetooth capability, but I thought I remember reading somewhere that its specific to a sound bar or something? Im not sure...

But would love to be able to use a keyboard for Netflix and the browser.

btw, the la7400 contains a bluetooth module (bm lds401) according to a sticker on the back of the tv. does this mean, i can use the sony ps3 headset or bluetooth keyboard?

Were you ever able to figure out the answer to the Bluetooth question?

Does this look like something that would warrant returning for a different set?

Did you eve figure this out, my set does this as well, but i think it has something to do with 20 point white balance.

Yes, with a Vizio M series 60" wink.gif. I never could get the LG to my liking, so I sold it and bought the Vizio, which I have been extremely pleased with.

Has anyone had TVs power cycle issue ??. I couldn't turn the tv on with remote control and when it got on after pressing power button 2 or 3 times. It was on but no picture. Then picture came up. Then after an hr or so still the same issue. I turned the tv on tv LG logo light came up and tv turned off it self. This happened 4/5 times. Then I left it alone after it turned off. After a while tv turned on by itself.
I haven't called LG yet but ill . I wanted to see if anyone else having this issue.

No. But I would unplug the unit for ~15 minutes. It is the first thing I do when I have a power cycle problem with anything.

Finally got it approved and then they discovered it isn't available from the warehouse or stocked in any of the stores in my area. Their website showed it was stocked in 9 out of 10 stores before I started the process. Ordered from Amazon.

Turns out BestBuy had the 55LA7400 In stock all along. I guess you can't trust these people. Way back when, I returned a set to them and I had to wait until they proved to themselves the set was defective. With Amazon I can just pack it up and send it back, no questions asked. No more BBY for me.
