hdmi black level
I can't access them in any mode, Dynamic, Standard, Natural or Movie.
When I click on them, I get this message: This Function isn't available
I'll assume that is because some other setting needs to be on or off to enable those two settings.
I can call Samsung, but thought I'd post it here first in case others run into this also.
Still looking for some help here guys.
I called samsung today and spoke to someone in the tech department. Told him I'm in movie mode, and in picture options I can't access hdmi black level and film mode. He told me the following.
hdmi black level is grey out because the source you're using is providing a blacker level than the tv needs. What? I told him I've had the F8000 for about a week, and have not been able to access it. However this morning the hdmi black level option was not greyed out anymore and I could choose low or normal. I told him that the tech I talked to before him had me do a factory reset to try and get access to film mode. After we did that, hdmi black level became greyed out again. I had it, then after the factory reset, I didn't. Something isn't right.
Film mode. He said it's grayed out because it only works when a coaxial cable is used.
I asked, it will be grayed out if hdmi is used? That's correct he said. It is not accessible when hdmi is used, only a coaxial cable. Can anyone confirm this. Is anyone able to use film mode with an hdmi?
I told him the blu-ray and Directv each have an hdmi going to my processor. Processor has one hdmi going to the F8000. He said that will not enable film mode. As some of you know, Cnet just published their calibrations for the F8000. It lists film mode as Auto 1. I assume Cnet uses an hmdi, not a coaxial.
Any owners using these two features?
