Do you guys know how to get this message to stop coming on? I have anynet turned off as it kept changing my receiver inputs. I leave my cable box on 24/7 so I dont know why this message is coming on every time I turn on the TV.

At the top of the page you can see a news alert about the free remote. Clicking its link will open a pop-up form for you to fill out.

Thank you very much! Just filled out the form, so my remote should be here shortly.

Hi ,

I leave my cable box on too , I have seen that message once. I could not figure it out , but as it turns out Comcast re-booted the box and it was getting a "broadcast only" signal and was in "slow boot mode"

Once the box was fully booted up , I turned off the F8000 and back on again and did not see that message.

If you can get into the service menu of your box , make sure it is fully booted.

If you have Comcast:

Box >Off > hit Help > then use the < & > arrow keys to navigate , "Exit" to leave or just hit the Power button.

I hope this helps.

Samsung UN65F8000 and Tivo working together on Samsung remote
Hello
Yeah, I got my samsung remote to control my Tivo and Bose 48 system.. I stayed up till 4 am playing with my new UN65F8000. I was able to get everything to work. I love the new Samsung smart remote and I am happy to say I only need one remote for everyday TV watching. The key was tricking the TV a little. My Cox cable is hooked into my HDMI 1 slot, however I have my HDMI one listed as TIVO. This allows me to use the remote as a Tivo remote on HDMI 1. I then needed to include Cox cable and I hooked it in HDMI 1 but listed it in HDMI 3. This allows for all of your channels to show up and select them in the smart hub, I love this option. The Tv quickly learns what you watch and displays programs you like. I am so happy I got this to work. I really love this TV. Hopefully I can get my smart hub and apps working this week. I am lost on fixing this problem. I have reset my TV several times and attempted to update firm ware I am currently running 1104. For some reason I can't register the tv. In fact when I go into menu// smart features //the /samsung account/ is not able to be selected. I even tried to read the smart manual and it is not loaded. Samsung said the new firmware coming out in the next ten days should fix the problem. I am really frustrated but I am sure it will all work out. Any HELP would be much appreciated.rolleyes.gif

Hi ,

Have you set up an account online ?

If so use the same password and user ID under Menu > Smart Features > Samsung Account > Log in.

If you did not set up an account online , just follow the same steps , but make sure you use the same info for there website too.

I hope this helps ! smile.gif

Thanks for the help Gary
We did set up our account with Samsung online. Unfortunately we cannot select( Samsung Account) under Menu > Smart Features > Samsung Account > Log in. For some reason this feature is locked out. We are puzzled and have spent countless hours trying to figure out what to do. I figured someone else would be having this problem. The tech advisor at Samsung said she was having a lot of people with the same problem. She said it was a firm ware problem. After reading all of the post on this site I have little faith in Samsung Tech support.

Hi Danny ,

Sorry for your troubles , but , join the club !! , sorry smile.gif

Yes , Samsung`s support needs work , more work than the F8000 itself eek.gif

This is a new issue , as far as I know your are the first. Maybe you could try this:

Reset the tv , not just the video , but reset the network settings as well , try to make it just like it was when you opened the box.

To be honest , I don`t think that will help , but it might. Also the F8000 has a really bad wireless card , so if you are hooked up wireless , try a hardwired direct connection to your router. I know if you happen to have it wall mounted it may not be the best of choices , but right now we are in trouble shooting mode !!

Once you have it all reset , make sure you reconfigure the F8000 as a wired connection , please post how you made out !!

Best of luck , smile.gif

I don't believe Samsung would not be consistent in what panels they put on the same model.
One UN60F8000 has a TSO1 panel and another UN60F8000 has a TH01 panel? That does not make sense.

PS, I did not write in my post..."No because one 60" owner had the TH01".
(bassmonger1 please don't include your reply as part of my post the way you did. It appears that I wrote that in my post. The heading in the quote says: Originally Posted by bekindrewind. )

Sorry, I definitely had some weird glitches in that post. For the record I was was replying no, that another owner had the th01. I also don't think it was a mistype because s and h are so far away from each other on the keyboard, as well as the fact that it would be a big coincidence since samsung makes a ts01, th01, td01, hs01, and ms01. Samsung has been known to put different panels in the same model before, hence the panel lottery smile.gif

You may already know this, but when you go to register the TV on Samsung's site, make sure that you use the serial number on back of the Samsung TV and NOT the serial number on the box in which it came. For whatever reason, there is often a slight difference in the in the two serial numbers-at least there were on both of my Samsung TV's.

Congratulations on your clever workaround with the remote and HDMI inputs.

Regards,

I don't see the anynet setting. How can I make the Samsung remote control the TV volume and not the receiver volume? When I watch anything through the SmartHub the sound from the cable network I was watching still plays.

Once you're viewing in 3D mode, just enter the main menu as normal and start entering in all my settings - just like in 2D mode. When you leave 3D mode and go back to 2D mode, the settings will go back to how they were set in 2D, and when you go back into 3D mode, you will see your 3D settings. The 2D and 3D settings are independent. Also keep in mind that the "3D Light Control" in the 3D-specific menu always resets to "low" after you turn off your set, so each time you turn your set on and watch 3D again, you will need to go back in and set it back to "high" again. That's annoying and I already reported that bug to Samsung but I would be shocked if they actually did anything to remedy that issue.

Thanks. Just the answer I was looking for.

Anyone have an apple device?

Samsung updated their app last week and changed the whole GUI to include a dual view....but I can't get it to work. It also said it wouldn't support anything that was inputed via hdmi...wtf why would that matter?

Also....really been hating I don't have smart led control using DLNA devices....what's the point of disabling it?

38-40ms is very good for gaming. Not sure why you think it isn't. Sure less is always better. But given how the sets perform these days - 38-40 is considered quite low. Of course it's high compared to a CRT or PC monitor. But when you look at all the tv sets out there and you see how high the lag is with so many of them - including this one - you realize that 38-40 is among the better sets out there currently.

Even more frustrating why the F8000 has so much worse lag than a cheaper model. Totally unacceptable. I think people need to call Samsung and directly ask them why the F7100 has 38-40ms and the F8000 is around 80ms. What did Samsung screw up to make this set so much worse with lag?

I know on my Mac Mini I had to re-do the color profile for the F8000 , chroma is still off but I have a 2.4 gamma rate using Standard setting via HDMI.
It is far from perfect , but skin tones are very good , although white levels are still overdriven , I can tone them down without losing what I have gained , so it is just a medium balance.

I still have not tried the cursor movement with my PS3 , but I plan to take a close look at X-Com`s cross-hair and see what happens.

4K`s , well I would look to Sony for your best bet , unless you rely on app`s , from what I hear Sony still needs work on there app platform , not that Samsung is anything to write home about !!

Take care , later smile.gif

Not sure about PC color profiles - I never had to look into that so I don't know about color profiles.

Has anybody received their remote yet? I still haven't gotten mine yet.

Random question. Has anyone been able to get FULL functionality out of the samsung touch remote for PS3 when playing a bluray? Swiping right, left and clicking works for the bluray menus, but not for pause, play, ff, rwnd. Have to hit more and swipe over for play/pause and what not. A little annoying, just wondered if anyone found a workaround. Anynet is on btw.
Hi Guy`s and Eagle ,

Remote ???? , still waiting , I have a feeling it will be awhile eek.gif

Color profiles , just a series of preset color settings Mac`s have I.E. Adobe , CMC , etc. mostly on the Mac Pro desk tops and iMac`s , most are of no use unless you are really into graphics.

I sort of remember when I had that Toshiba notebook last year there were different profiles for display , I really can not remember where found them , it was somewhere in the place that gives you your windows score.
In that section , sorry I can`t be of more help , I only had it long enough for it to fail , 5 weeks eek.gif , BB was very kind on giving me store credit. smile.gif

As far as the remote , I am not sure we will ever see it confused.gif

No follow up contact whatsoever from Samsung , not a very good way to run a business. frown.gif

Later , I need coffee biggrin.gif

On the TV go into the Universal Remote set up. You will likely find your cable stb there as a connected device. Delete it.

Hi , I am not sure I know what you are getting at ?

I have a Mac Mini hooked up via HDMI , works fine , just don`t use the PC setting.

As for iPad`s , I don`t have one , but I do know that the F8000 does not support IOS , just Android - OS.

If you are trying to sync an iPad , I do not think it will work , IF you find a way to sync an IOS device to the F8000 , please post or PM me , many thanks smile.gif

No remote again today. It's not like I need it right away - but it's a great example of how Samsung operates. No email confirming ship date, no tracking #, and they promise delivery within 7 days which is clearly not the case.

On another note, I watched Speed Racer for the first time the other night, and I never saw this tv come alive so much with color. Personally, I enjoyed it a lot and the blu-ray reviews are great for that title, though I know the theatrical critics all seemed to hate it immensely. I thought it was a blast, achieving just what they set out to do with it, and the color and detail was incredible. If you really want to see what this tv can do with color, throw Speed Racer in and you'll find out.

Are you really complaining about the process of receiveing a free item? lol

If you get it within a month it is still something you did not pay for and should be appreciative of it. Now granted, you did pay a lot of money for the TV but still, you bought it knowing it did not come with the remote.

Just had Samsung Repair tech leave the house. He ordered a main board for my UN65F8000 and said this would fix the problem. Today the TV turned itself off after two hours of watching it. I was able to simple hit power button and no issue coming back on. My Bose system and DVD player did not lose power.

Best of luck on the repair, always a shame when something bad goes wrong with a new product.

Hi RW ,

Thanks for posting , at least we know they are on the way.

Can you please post what size batteries it uses , AA or AAA , many thanks biggrin.gif

Also , can this remote work a cable box ?

The original can without the use of the IR Blaster , that can with the F8000 confused.gif .

I tried to use the blaster , but it would not pick up a signal from my Comcast box , but during set I told the F8000 it could using the blaster , if I set it up to use the blaster , then I lose the ability to control my CB.

The F8000 is a strange beast !! LOL

Two AAA batteries... The only thing that bothers me is the Backlight Button, when off it still faintly glows. May be a battery waster, time will tell...
It has great raised buttons for easy use in the dark... Nice Netflix and Amazon buttons, one touch and you'r there... smile.gif

Edit: has STB On,STB Menu and STB Guide... smile.gif Sorry I do not use a STB so I can't test it...

Good info and glad they are on their way. I'm still waiting for mine after it said 5-7 days.

Hopefully soon I won't be using a STB either ;-) biggrin.gif

I'm trying to get XBMC to work with my TV. I haven't gotten a chance to see if it'll work with a "source" yet or not. I only installed it at work while RDPing in haha cool.gif
