As for iPad`s , I don`t have one , but I do know that the F8000 does not support IOS , just Android - OS.

If you are trying to sync an iPad , I do not think it will work , IF you find a way to sync an IOS device to the F8000 , please post or PM me , many thanks smile.gif

I'm referring to iOS, they DO have a remote app for apple so "technically" its compatible. It never had a "dual view" option until they recently updated it...I just can't get it to function(I was able to with android devices though).

Hi ,

Well , I did not know that !! smile.gif

So this app will allow you to use it ( iPad or iPhone ) like a remote ? ___ OK

I think I did hear about that one , but I was unaware that you can mirror whats on an iPad to the F8000.

Good info ! , can you link me more info please , thanks.

What wall mount are ya'll buying for these units? I thought I remember someone mentioning this

one: http://www.monoprice.com/mobile/Product/Details/5918?mainCategoryId=108&categoryId=10828&subCategoryId=1082812c

I love the price, but not the fact that it can't tilt or rotate, but do like how it seems to put the TV flush against the wall.

Hi ,

That is weird , you are taking about when you open the Smart Hub , you do not see your tv picture plus the other stuff like suggestions ?

If so , try a Smart Hub Reset , that might work , I have never heard of this problem before.

Best of luck , please post results , thanks.

The F8000 is a strange tv , be prepared for just about anything short of a terminal failure.
A ton of bugs eek.gif !

I stocked up on Energizer Ultimate Lithium. Both in AA and AAA. Found them on Amazon.
If you find you are changing batteries too often, this may help... smile.gif
post #1870 of 6700
Hi RW ,

That is what I bought too , the Energizer Ultimate Lithium are definitely the best batteries out there.

I will have to check out Amazon , I have been buying them at my local Target , I do believe I am over paying !!

So when you turn on the light on the remote , it does not go out ? , or just takes awhile ?

Many thanks biggrin.gif + thanks wink.gif

If you get it within a month it is still something you did not pay for and should be appreciative of it. Now granted, you did pay a lot of money for the TV but still, you bought it knowing it did not come with the remote.

You're making it a bigger deal than I am. I only mentioned it because personally I think it's unprofessional that they can't bother to at least email me a confirmation that it was shipped so I know it's actually on the way. In fact, I said I was in no rush for it. But as of today I still don't have it and for all I know it never even went through because I have no confirmation. A simple email could have assured me that the order was received and it's on the way - then I don't care if it takes weeks, as long as I know it's on it's way. Have you ever bought anything online? It's customary to send a confirmation email of your order. It was free, but it's still an order.

And Samsung did say 5-7 days. Don't say 5-7 days if it's going to take 2 weeks. Just say it could take a couple weeks.

When it comes to the F8000 , anything we get from Samsung is far from free !

Samsung should pay us for providing all the support and trouble shooting that is done here.

I don't think you guys have to worry too much about your free remote. Mine just came in the mail! It took about ten days, but that's perfectly fine. Don't forget there was a holiday last week.
Hi AGuy01 ,

Thanks for the up-date , at least some folks are getting them smile.gif

Can you please post the model number , thanks , RW was saying the he has an Amazon & Netflix button , but looking at the picture when I ordered mine it did not have those buttons.

Do you have them ? , just curios , so far I don`t use either , I`m still pay`n my dues to Comcast frown.gif , for now anyway .

I have used it on a 55" and 60"...its worked great. Just make sure you keep it low enough so you don't need to "tilt" it down.

Thanks adgrimes! So this one "tilts" as well? I was under the impression that once mounted that was it, no tilt at all.

Can't really beat the price tho :-D
has anyone else had STB guide issues. mine displays the right local channels but when you click on them they go to a different number. ch4 will go to 2694 or something like it. if i go to the channel list via the menu it works correctly so the zip code and provider(directv) info from the web is working.

thanks

Does not tilt I was just addressing the fact you were considering a tilt one...it's not necessary if you mount correctly so the center of tv is generally at seated eye level. You def can't beat the price smile.gif ensure you read some reviews on good tips to installing it..there is a lock feature on bottom where if you use twine to pull it through it makes it very easy to install.

Can any owners comment about the "motion resolution" of the F8000 with AMP Dejudder *off*? CNET's review says that the native motion resolution is 1200(!), which blows away every other LCD. I don't understand how this is possible. Does anybody have an explanation for this amazing feat?

I currently have a 55F7100 and am extremely dissastisfied with motion -- I see major edge flickering in 1080p24 content, and even low frame rate video games. Does the impressive motion resolution of the F8000 eliminate this effect?

What about "PC Mode" (for gaming), does it retain the lofty motion resolution?

Thanks, but I understand all those issues (and more, sadly smile.gif) which is why I am shocked by CNET's reported "motion resolution" of 1200 on the F8000 with dejudder *off*.

I just found another review by HDTVTest which reports the no-processing motion resolution as 300, which is normal for LCDs. They also go on to talk about Samsung's AMP Deblur in the context of improved motion resolution. I have a feeling that CNET's reported number is with AMP Deblur on even though they fail to mention it.

So I guess the F8000 probably isn't some kind of magical cure for my 1080p24 edge flicker after all. Bummer! smile.gif

(AMP Deblur doesn't help with the edge flicker effect, if anybody is wondering. But you can clearly see it improve motion resolution in the scrolling-car test in PerPixAn.)

Where do you check all of the resolutions in the DirecTV menu

Settings like Samsung's Auto Motion Plus or Sony's Motionflow are responsible for higher motion resolutions. PC and Game Mode unfortunately disable Auto Motion Plus. I know Sony's W802A allows you to use the Impulse Motionflow setting when in Game Mode, but that causes distracting flicker. Those motion settings also have a tendency to increase input lag. I would love to find a good gaming set that allows motion smoothing without increasing input lag too much, though that search isn't going well.

Hi all, new forum member, want to thank everyone for all the info on this site which helped me purchase a 75F8000 just over a month ago from Best Buy.
Very happy with this TV using Verizon Fios as my provider, no issues so far but I only use it for viewing broadcast, dvd/bluray and streaming Netflix.
I have been following along closely and glad to see the other "flagship forum" slowing down, sure makes it easier to keep up with this one only.

My question is, since just receiving the "free remote" (thanks also for that info) how do I program it for my Fios/STB?
I went into System/device Mgr/universal remote set-up, where the original touch remote is set up, went thru this with the new remote to no avail.
I don't see anything to set up a second remote, and the included "instructions" don't help. I went online and also contacted Samsung for help
but won't hold my breath...the F8000 series is not even listed on the support page!
Is it necessary to select all or just the 1080p
post #1889 of 6700
There's a new update out.
It seems pretty big, since its taking 8 min. using Fios Quantum. Does anybody know what this update fixes? (Maybe it fixes game mode)

Hi Guy`s ,

I got my new "free" remote today , and just like "tcass35" , my STB functions don`t work frown.gif

They work fine with the remote that came with the F8000 , without using the blaster ! , O__well , other than that it is a good remote !

AGuy01,

I have been play some PS3 games , I see what you guy`s are talking about , if I aim and shoot I miss eek.gif

That must be the same lag happening when I play Grid 2 , the cars are really lose , must be the lag... damn frown.gif

AG , maybe you can help me out :

For the past few days , my PS3 keeps disconnecting from my network confused.gif , any ideas ?
I can still download but when I play a game it keep bouncing me of and the automatically reconnects , more annoying than anything else.
Also , I will have it set to "auto sign in" and very time it disconnects I have to manually sign in again , just does not make any sense.

Thanks for your help in advance biggrin.gif

Later smile.gif
