The Sony W900A is the best in Input Lag and thats it ...

And if the update of the F8000 is true ... that Samsung is the best ...

But i can say one Thing ... i had the F7000 and the W800A from Sony ...

Let me say ... the Samsung TV is not just better in Smart Content ... Samsung has MUCH MUCH better Sound ... and is MUCH more user friendly, has better Internet, and thats a nice Feature with touchpad ... and the TV is much faster and just way better ... the Sony sucks in every way ...

So the 900A is maybe the best Input lag ... but it still sucks ...

So I just want to know if the F8000 has that ****ing update ... if so ... it is bought

By the way iam looking for a gaming tv, too ... so do you think if i hate sony I should wait for the new Samsung 2014 ? ... Do you think Samsung will improve Input Lag there ? (I mean in case that update is not true)

LOL. Good luck finding a better LCD. The image on this TV (properly calibrated of course), is reference quality. And I also have the "big daddy" of them all, the Elite PRO-151FD. Set the F8000 up right, and the number of LCDs that beat it is..... none? Sharp Elite?

Who is using the built in sound on a $2000+ TV?

So if the Samsung F8000 is so good, why is nearly all of this thread full of complaints about issues with it? Also why does every review say the PQ is better on the 900A, what exactly is better other than the smart features and sound which I won't be using anyway, because I will have a soundbar. Also this update on the input lag, where is it? This is the September 2nd firmware update, but where is the update for the input lag, I see none?

This firmware is for TV Model(s): LED F7450/F7500/F7550/F8000
The version is 1111.4
This firmware update will improve the following:

- Solves swipe motion could not move the picture to next picture.

- Solves Network Connection issue with Wireless router.

- Solves Brightness Popping issue.

- Improves picture quality.

- Supports more MSO in OnTV feature.

- Enhances Voice Recognition feature.

That input lag update is a big mystery as long as nobody is willing to post some numbers.
You would think that Samsung would mention such an important improvement to counter Sony and their W900.

Right I mean I don't want to say I don't believe the few people who say it was fixed, but I just wish it was official.

You'll need to provide a percentage break-down of complaint posts, vs. non-complaints.
The update that fixed the input lag was firmware 1110... it came out in latter part of Aug. Well that"s i've read on here anyway!!

Every review and post about gaming is a complaint about the high input lag, if Samsung really fixed the lag why is there no official word about it. Since this would be a huge decision for many people buying the TV. Either Samsung is clueless about how huge of an update that is or.. I don't know.
We need ppl with the necessary equipment to step up. I'd do it, but unfortunately have an EU model which is only on FW 1107.

You assume a lot of (potential) buyers are gamers, or will notice the lag. Personally, I have noticed nothing related to lag. That could mean its fixed, or that I am not sensitive to it. I definitely notice lip-sync issues, but everything appears fine on my set.
Lip-sync issues seems like a problem with lag, no?

I thought that's what AVS forums are for eek.gif

I actually appreciate people embracing and bringing issues up rather than downplaying problems and mindless cheerleading but that't just me rolleyes.gif

I meant that I am sensitive to lip sync issues in general, however I don't notice any on my F8000.

Agreed. If its pure 2D image quality you're after, this set is going to be hard to beat. Especially if you need the smaller 46" size.

Just checking in. I've had my UN55F8000 for four months now and I am still discovering new features about it. I’m just getting into 3D tweaks and enjoying the TV very much. This forum has helped me out with the few minor problems I’ve had. The calibration advice has been supper. I have yet to run my own calibration DVD on this TV as yet. This forum has help me make a great TV excellent.

Firmware 1111 is out.
The question is ... is it a good idea to wait until April 2014 for the new Samsung TV's ? ... Do you think Input Lag will be improved than ?

I mean currently the Sony has best ... but i dont want a Sony Tv i dont even like the design it is gross ...

So if the F8000 still lags in Input Lag, cause that "Special" update is made up ...

Would it be a good idea to just wait till the new TV's Launch ? The follower of the F8000 ...
I don't think the update is made up but I'm not sure if this is a better gaming TV than the w900A, which seems to be the best from reviews.
Any way to stop the F8000 from showing the annoying camera isnt open message every time we turn the TV on ?

This is horrible and needs to be addressed. Its driving us crazy.
Is anyone playing with streaming Videos from a nas drive ?

It wont show all the directories
If the update is not made up ...

Than the F8000 is at least as good as the W900A ... Cause the W900A was not as good as my PC Monitor and the guy said that the new update made the experience the same as on his 22 Inch Monitor ...

So if the update is true,... the W900A is no longer the best ... just one of the best ...

And cause the Samsung is still better in everything else, i would definetely go for that one ...

Only Thing i Keep in mind is the new Generation of TVs in 2014 ... maybe Samsung will Focus on that Problem
post #2693 of 6701
Samsung posts the EXACT same vague firmware release notes every time. Frustrating, I know. All I can say is, I'm extremely satisfied with the F8000 and it kicks ass with gaming and movies. But if YOU think that the W900A is better for YOU, then by all means, get the W900A. No one is going to make up your mind for you.

@VGI

Go into Smart TV features and disable gesture commands, that will stop the notice coming on.

If you're only after 55" and gaming then the W900 might be for you but there is an even better gaming TV with less lag and about $1000 cheaper the 802.

Under Smart Features menu, turn Motion Control to Off.
Philip, I said it's as responsive as my 22 mili-second monitor. The monitor is 23" is size. Not to confuse the two. I'm able to play Counter Strike Global Offensive and Counter Strike Source in the same way I play on my main monitor, so if the TV is fast enough for me to play those two games, then it's fast enough for me period. You may prefer more responsive but it's as good as I'd ever want it to be.

Those darn brightness pops on my F8000 LED. When are they going to get them fixed once and for all....

Yep I am thinking about going with the 802 also, but the reviews and other people say the 902 is much better when it comes to PQ. Not sure if it's 1000 better though.

Is there a calibration settings based on the Standard mode? I really don't like Movie mode.
