The ARC channel only seems to pass stereo sound not 5.1. I also tried using the optical cable from the TV to the receiver and still no joy. The receiver only has one Optical connection available, so I can't run an optical cable to each system. I can't afford a new receiver at this time and I would like my games to use 5.1 surround.
I also will be getting Xbox one and PS4. My blu ray player is connected straight to the receiver, so I can enjoy lossless audio. I don't want my Bluray player to be saddled with displaying with game mode picture settings. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Is anyone successfully passing a 5.1 audio signal through this TV?
I have been very lazy these past many months and never set up ARC as I've read it can be somewhat a PITA. I've been using digital audio just fine though with 5.1 being passed through it from TV to receiver.
I have xbox 360 plugged into HDMI 2 of TV plugged into denon 2112CI. On Xbox under console settings, audio, digital output I have Dolby digital selected. On tv menu, sound, digital audio out I have Dolby digital selected. I believe I might have my TV sound under digital audio set at dobly digital.Edited by adgrimes - 9/4/13 at 9:08pm
