Which version do you have? Smart LED is in the Picture Options if my memory serves me right. Last I heard that the Canadian version does not have Smart LED options. So you may or may not have the Smart LED depending on the version of the F8000 you have. Hopefully you do.

I'm choosing source (component for a wii) then I go to top right click tools. Then click edit name. It gives me options like cable box, DVD, blu ray. There is an option that just has dashes (----). When I select that it does nothing. No keyboard pop up or anything to type in what you want.

I agree the apps work remarkably well. I have a HTPC and was using that on my old tv for Netflix and HBOGO -- the apps on this TV blow away the web interfaces.

But what happened to all the ones that were there? I didn't even get a chance to take note of what was there. There were like 30 apps and now I have 9.

I've had this happen a few times right after the update before last and it didn't happen since. I think it's power cycling or something. It will go away.

2 things.

1. I know I've read in the thread that you can change the name of the source or input. Like name it xbox or ps3. But I don't see a way to type it in.

2. I've had the tv for 3 days. Apps worked great like HBOGO. However updated to new software last night and most of the apps are gone. Including HBOGO.
I remember someone else had this issue. Was there a work around?

3. The stand. My tv stand that it is on is perfectly level. But the tv tilts toward the back maybe 5 or 10 degrees. I know I assembled the stand correctly. Anyone else notice this?

Thanks

The rainbow effects are completely normal. I spent hours in BB and HHGregg over the past two weeks and noticed so many different brands any types of TV's with the same rainbows. My stand is exactly the same way. Congratulations on your new set!

Oh frown.gif i have the canadian version! Did you know if i can add the option , like the cal-day and nigth option?

Unfortunately I don't believe there is anyway to get Smart LED on the Canadian version. If you're in your return period for your F8000, you could perhaps get a refund and try getting your hands on the American version? Smart LED, although a nice feature, isn't the most important aspect of the F8000 user experience. So I wouldn't feel too left out because of it.

Also the guide starting on channel 1 is dissapointing. I have verizon fios. To get to the Fios guide its press MORE, then swipe left past the numbers screen that pos up, then select STB guide. Not terrible but would be nice to have the guide button start at the channel you are on or have the guide button go to the FIOS guide.

I have noticed that whatever screen you were on while using the more button, after exiting from that, the next time you press the more button it will display that last screen you were on. That does help to access the STB guide.

Thank you. This is some TV. So yours is tilted back slightly also. I don't think its affecting my view while watching anything. it's just a little annoying because I have 2 shelf towers next to my stand so it makes it noticable.

Sorry, just some more info for anyone who might need it. PC Richards went lower than Samsungs UPP price. Not east coast or abes of maine lower but enough to make me OK with it. 3 Bestbuys near me wouldnt budge or pricematch. Now looking into costco's square trade warranty.

Hi all. First time posting here, been lurking for a month since I got my un65f8000. Love the TV, have a teeny bit of flash lighting at the extreme left and right edges of TV, but if you saw the Sony rear projection that I lam coming from it does not bother me at all.

I do have a dilemma that involves sound for my game consoles. I have a Yamaha RX-V475 receiver and am using the Audio Return Channel with my Xbox 360 and PS3 connected directly to the TV because I only want Game mode for those devices. The ARC channel only seems to pass stereo sound not 5.1. I also tried using the optical cable from the TV to the receiver and still no joy. The receiver only has one Optical connection available, so I can't run an optical cable to each system. I can't afford a new receiver at this time and I would like my games to use 5.1 surround.

I also will be getting Xbox one and PS4. My blu ray player is connected straight to the receiver, so I can enjoy lossless audio. I don't want my Bluray player to be saddled with displaying with game mode picture settings. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Is anyone successfully passing a 5.1 audio signal through this TV?

I have been very lazy these past many months and never set up ARC as I've read it can be somewhat a PITA. I've been using digital audio just fine though with 5.1 being passed through it from TV to receiver.

I have xbox 360 plugged into HDMI 2 of TV plugged into denon 2112CI. On Xbox under console settings, audio, digital output I have Dolby digital selected. On tv menu, sound, digital audio out I have Dolby digital selected. I believe I might have my TV sound under digital audio set at dobly digital.

so getting a new stand was part of the plan. Plus I've got the need for the storage that a wider would supply. thanks otiy

I'm worried if I exchange this and the next tv does the same thing, it will be for nothing. I know Snoopy had the same issues I had.... Anyone else? Do I exchange this TV? The screen tearing is a real immersion killer.

Great news guys. Exchanged my TV for a new one.... Screen tearing is gone. Very happy F8000 owner.

The Sony 4k box has been selling with their 900 series 4k from the beginning and is exclusive for the Sony TV'S and will not work with any other brand unfortunately.

Hopefully Samsung will be picking up the ball and put out their own 4k streaming device soon!

Try unplugging the tv and giving it a hard reboot.

Don`t use a wireless connection , the F8000 has a terrible WiFi card.

If you want good streaming apps , go hard-wired wink.gif

You may want to check your router. I'm wireless and I stream 3D through VUDU w/no issues.

Trying to find a UN60F8000 in stock in the Northern Virginia area - but nobody has them (best buy, HH Gregg, Sears, etc...) Are they selling out, phasing out, or what?
