I purchased a 46" F8000 (TS01 panel) a week or so ago. Got it from AllTimeTVs and was surprisingly happy with the experience (I know they're risky without a return policy like Amazon, but saving $600 was too good to pass up). Bought a 5-year warranty for $150 as well.
Anyway, I've been overall VERY happy with the TV. Coming from a Panasonic ST30, obviously, the smart features and design are exceedingly better. I do miss the color and blacks a bit though. Here's my question/concern: is it just my specific panel or does flashlighting/clouding tend to come and go a lot? Sometimes while watching black sequences (like the credits at the end of an episode of The X-Files for example), the screen is completely uniform and fully black in all corners/ sides. However, 80% of the time, there is very noticeable bright clouding/flashlighting in the lower-left corner. I've tried so many settings to see if it's simply calibrated wrong, but I feel like the TV sometimes uses the local dimming (Smart LED setting) correctly, and most of the time doesn't. Does this happen with any your sets? I don't have the option for a return/replacement from the store, but can request warranty service if needed.
Would really appreciate your advice on this. Thanks in advance!
