Now have any of you owners purchase warranty and for how long and what company ?
I too used costco's 3 year warranty for this TV bought at best buy. The way this warranty works is:
-The first year and 3 months is covered by samsung(if you registered on samsung's website).
-The next 3 years after the first 15 months is then covered by square trades warranty.
-The reason why they say "costco" covers the first 2 years is bc of samsung's warranty AND using an American Express card there(AMEX I believe is a year).
Remember every warranty place has different way's coverages work.
I hate best buy's prices BUT they repaired my laptop multiple times in a few years spent as much as the laptop was worth then declared it a lemon and allowed me to pick a "comparable" laptop that was currently being offered. I took the comparable's price and added a few hundred for a REALLY nice laptop.
Squaretrade will only repair up to the value of the TV(what you paid for it on receipt). So if you bought a TV for $2,000 and had a few minor repairs that cost say, $1,000, Only to find out you need a major repair that will be like $1500...over the cost of your tv, square trade will cash your account out and pay only UP to the value of the original set. So you would only get $1000 for a $1500 repair.
If I'm "misunderstanding" this at all, experts feel free to jump in.
