Zone 2 Power amp

Having trouble getting sound to Zone 2 ( outside speakers) when hooking up an external power amp. When i bypass the receiver, everything works and i understand the analog only output to Zone @ or at least i think do. Is there something else that needs tp be hooked up to trigger the source to output to the Pre-outs that run to the amp powering the outside speakers?

Zone 2 on your unit must be turned ON as well. smile.gif

should be by just hitting Zone 2 and selecting the analog source correct?

Yup .. pretty much. What model AVR do you have? Just to confirm, you must also have analog red/white audio cables connected from the source to the AVR (in addition to HDMI for the main zone).

TX-NR809

Zone 2 source on NET
RCA jacks connecting Zone 2 Pre-out to Input on AMP
Speaker wires connected to AMP

If i connect analog source directly to the Amp, everything is ok

Network sources should play to Zone 2. Try unplugging the AVR for a few minutes and if still no joy, then reset the microprocessor per the instructions provided in the Troubleshooting section of the Owner's manual.

Not sure what the issue is, but I used the Zone 3 pre-out and it works as it should. Go figure. I will reset the microprocessor later and see if that fixes the Zone 2.

Thanks!
