AssassinHTPC Passive Thin ITX Custom Build

Completed a passive custom build this week that I wanted to share.

The case is able to mount on the back of a flatscreen using VESA mounts, and is made of solid crafted aluminum. The inside of the case has a heatsink that's mounted to the internal edge, and screws directly into the motherboard.

Here is the full list of components:

Case: Akasa Fanless Chasis
Processor: Intel i3 3220T
Motherboard: Intel DQ77KB
256GB SSD
8GB DDR 3 1600 RAM
Windows 7 Home Premium
Assassin Ultimate Setup + Purchased Power DVD

Very cool. I keep thinking about building a fanless (passive) HTPC for the bedroom. I am also interested in the cost of this.

This is exactly what I would want for the bedroom.
Can this playback 1080 movies with no sweat?
Also, as others have asked what was the approx. cost to build this?

I just picked up a couple of these Euler cases for some DH61AG/i3-2120T/8GB/64GB mSATA I have had sitting on the shelf waiting for the perfect case to come along.

It should be perfectly silent -- there are no moving parts. It's always strange turning on a fanless case since there's no audible feedback.

Would there be any storage for this build?? I am guessing that it would be attached to the network and access a Media Server in the house...

Temps are around 55 C. Hope to have some screenshots later today for you.

Price is around $750 (cost of the components. Not what we would charge).

That is nice! It looks like you might be able to add a couple of USB tuners in those empty holes on the back if you don't use networked tuners.
