I was not tired going into The Hobbit, but the dull nature of the film made me tired. I did not care about any of the new characters, there was not enough at stake to hold my attention, some of the scenes were downright goofy (Bilbo as a snot rag, Goblin Town, etc....), etc........Just my opinion, you dont agree no worries.
Loved the book, but it did not translate into great cinema for me the way PJ and crew did this, largely because they drug out a MUCH simpler story that should have been one movie (IMO) into three.
You hit the nail on the head in your last sentence. Three movies was strongly motivated by $$$$, NOT because it was in the nature of creating the best and most engaging cinema experience. Of course it was the right decision from a business standpoint, but as a film (film series I should say) it suffers by becoming watered down, less engaging and just plain bloated............and we are still going to get an "extended edition" this Nov or Dec????
Guys, we are just going to have to agree to disagree. We can still be friends. Edited by Toe - 3/23/13 at 8:24pm
