What's the consensus on contact vs non contact calibration for Plasma

Meter in question is the I1d3, I would assume for 3d cant do contact ?

Ive used it both in contact and non contact mode without any noticeable differences.

For calibrating 3d you use 2d patterns, and those are patches of color or grey, nothing with shapes or lines. So I dont think it makes a difference. For the accuracy over time of your meter though, non contact is way better. Heating up and cooling down all the time is bad for your meter.

Itll drift over time anyway - a very good reason to purchase an i1 pro spectro for profiling purposes, make sure its a rev.d though.
