Updating a masthead post that has been abandoned

I'd like to update the broadcast television stations channel list in the masthead post of the Washington, DC/Baltimore, MD - HDTV thread in the Local HDTV Info and Reception subforum, but the author of that post, CycloneGT, has not logged in since January 8th, not posted since November 7, 2012 and in all likelihood, has not seen my post #13441 or the private message I sent him advising him that I have produced a current channel list. Can you either contact member CycloneGT by whatever means you have to so apprise him, or otherwise arrange to have that list updated?

Hi,

I changed the ownership of that post to you so go ahead and edit as needed.

Thanks

"Listing of Digtial stations in the Washington / Baltimore Region:"

I don't live there.. but I did take a look. The word Digtial jumped out at me right away . . . eek.gif

Maybe the new owner could fix it? smile.gif

It's been mine for less than three hours, and I'm already suffering from "buyer's remorse". wink.gif

Over 80% of that opening post consists of member submitted "news" items regarding the operation and availability of local broadcast TV programming that range from just over one year old to more than a decade old and are no longer of general interest. Any ideas on how I might somehow "archive" them, such that they may still be accessed by a link placed alongside the links to the three earlier editions of this thread?

Maybe try something like this:

News.doc 173k .doc file

I just copied and pasted the "News" portion of that first post directly into a Word document,
saved the document to my computer, then attached it above.
After someone downloads the doc, they can Ctrl-Click to open the links. Not super-slick, but it works.

You can also copy/paste info from that post into a later post and then link to the new post from the original one.

Or...
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Or you can spoiler older content to keep the newer info easier to find.

I just tried to bury the list of news items from that post in a "spoiler" by bracketing it with the terms Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
and
, but it didn't work. Let's see if it works in this post.

It worked here but not there. Maybe it is different in that masthead post because it is in rich text format.
