Can't decide epson 3010 or 8350 (eu haje: EH-TW3200 or EH-TW5900)

Hi, i can't decide between these two, so i need you to do it for me smile.gif

The price for these two is now almost same in my country (as 8350 got more expensive and 3010 cheaper at the same time).

Things i'm considering:
- both are better then my previous one and i was quite happy with it, so decision can't really be wrong
- 3010 is more modern looking and from the looks of the air outlets it seams quieter, but i guess real noise would be the same
- also i can't tell real life looks of the two as there is no place here where they have these models on display
- i do not use 3d, do not want to, so i don't care about 3d feature of 3010)
- i'm quite confident, that i can mount 3010 so that i don't need to use keystone correction. I think i would live at least for another year in this flat and probably will be able to install it when i move without use of keystone again.
- 3010 installation would be easier because i would not need to make measurements with centimeter precision. So this is easier installation for 8350 from the "hardware" side
- i would like to avoid using keystone correction in the future
- there is almost no price difference between the two models now
- 3010 does have HDMI CEC, this is what i see as it's main advantage. I would need to use same crazy IR blasters solution to automate power on/off of 8350. After my experience with harmony one i don't want to use universal remotes. So in the it this easier installation for 3010 smile.gif from the "software" side
- usable picture in not absolutely blacked out room would be definitive plus
- i would also use projector for gaming

So basically i think it is decision between CEC and lens shift.
Which one should i get? smile.gif

I own the 8100 (similar to 8350, blacks are supposed to be slightly better in 8350) and the 3010.

My pros and cons from my comparison are:

3010 - brighter -> if you're planning a really large screen, you may enjoy this extra brightness. I found my 8100 just barely passable to me in my setup on ~150 inch screen, but the 3010 is plenty bright there in the eco cinema mode when I have all room lights off.
3010 - They may have fixed the bulb issues. The 3010/5010/20s use a different bulb. Many of the 6000-8000 projectors get well under the 4000 hours rated lamp life. Personally I got 1400 and 2400 hours from the first 2 bulbs on my 8100. My 3010 I have 1500 hours on it so far. I like the ventilation better on the 3010, but I don't know if there's any concrete data on one being better than the other or showing overall better bulb life. I think the 3010 is manufacturer rated for 5000 hours in eco mode vs the 4000 hours for the 8350. My 8100's optics were damaged between end of life of bulb #2 and installation of the new bulb, the screen now displays magenta along the top of the screen and cyan along the bottom of the image.. If they indeed improved the bulb, the 3010 may be more reliable or last longer.
3010 - also does 3D

8350 - Lens shift / easier placement. I dont have either of my projectors "installed", so once in a while I take one to a relative's house for movie night. This is the main time I really miss the lens shift if I use the 3010 for this purpose.
8350 - Low input lag. The 3010 has significant input lag which you may notice if you do gaming on the projector. I am a very light gamer and notice the lag very easily particularly on racing games (I dont play FPS, but I've heard you notice the lag in those too). The input lag is not an issue for movie or video viewing. If you're absolutely not interested in 3D at all, don't need the extra brightness of the 3010, and do FPS or heavy video gaming, the 8350 would probably make you most happy.
8350 - Slightly lower blacks. This is more important to some people than others.

I don't care much for black level, so this is not the issue, however if input lag of 3010 is really 100ms and can't be reduced then i guess it is unusable for gaming and it is decided. I'm not heavy gamer but 1/10 of second delay between action on the screen and sound and what is actually going in game seams too much.
