Pioneer SC 1522K for $599.99 at Costco - Page 11

I didn't think they did. I just remembered reading a member posting that they did. Guess they got a digit wrong in the number, hence the mixup.

Thanks for posting this! I'm going to head over to the Carlsbad Costco now and see if they're still there!

Anybody know if there are any of these puppies left in the Dallas metroplex? I'm coming in from Oklahoma in the next few days and want to see if I can get one of these bad boys. Thanks!

There are still about 6 in the east plano location.

What is your preferred surround mode for 7.1 movies with no wides or height's ?
So far I have settled on PLIIx Movie mode for most 5.1 content on my 7.1 system (fronts, sides, rears, center & sub -- no wides, no highs). I don't have any true 7.1 sources yet.

For 2-channel video sources, Expanded was fun. For *some* 2-channel music, PLIIx Music is nice, but if the music was mixed with care for stereo effects, the surround mode just ruins them.

I have not cared for the Neo modes or the THX modes.

........

What are "sides" if they are not wides or highs? Sorry if that is a n00b question..

Do you mean the center surrounds?

I think he means surround left and surround right (the speakers that should be at the same distance from the screen as the viewer as shown in [A] on page 19 of the manual).
Front height and front wides are still considered front.

Shoot, just saw this thread, anyone know if there are any available at Costco's in Maryland, 20723 area?
None in Ann Arbor or Livonia, drats!
Guys - Don't miss this deal. I am not kidding when i say that this made a night and day difference in my living room. I had denon 2809ci paired with my DIY ER18MTM tower, and plugged in the pioneer in this setup. The power and control of this receiver is mind blowing. Maybe it is the eq or the D3 amps, but the sound has an impact that was lacking earlier. My RS meter detected high 20s coming from my speakers! smile.gif No subwoofer needed! The highs and mids are very clean, and the bass is very fast and controlled. No bloat whatsoever. Really good price on a wonderful receiver. I probably would not have bought it at its list price, but 599 is a great deal.

No I don't think it is going to necessarily be a worthwhile upgrade over an onkyo 809. Not in watts per channel, not in bells and whistles. Why are you considering the upgrade?
Do you think it's worth upgrading to this from an SC-05? I have outside speakers hooked up to my SC-05 as well as 4 Sonance 623 in-ceiling speakers with a Definitive Mythos 2 center and Definitive Sub. Thanks...

I bought one today (May 3) for $599.99 from the Mt Prospect, IL store.
It was not on display; There were three (now two) on a skid below the display shelf.

I called the costco in Mt. Prospect i was told they have none, does anyone in the Illinois are know where i can find one? How does the new vsx-70 compare?

Guys, I just opened mine since I was out of town. I didn't find a manual inside box. Only remote and the sealed bag with accessories. I know I can find it online but it's weird there isn't a manual with it.
Did all of you get an OWNER'S Manual?

There is no hard copy of the manual, only an electronic copy on the included CD-rom, which I assume was included in your accessory bag.

In case anyone's still looking. My wife stopped in to the Arlington, Tx costco yesterday afternoon and they still had 6 left and she grabbed me one. So looking around Dallas, you should be able to find some at Arlington still.

Gotta love a woman who pops into a Costco to pick up her husband an A/V receiver! smile.gif You are one lucky guy! The only thing my wife would do would be to return it!! LOL

Could be worse. We got a bookshelf/organizer that came with no assembly instructions or a list of included hardware. Had to search the web for it.

Got mine yesterday from Costco Mall of Georgia. I saw two more on the floor. Also this is not subject to the 90 day return policy like TV's.

because every other store sells it for over 1000.00. Pioneer does not use audyssey, they use macc.
FYI -- Portland OR. has 3, Hillsboro OR. has 3, well now 2! biggrin.gif

Beaverton OR. none. Hillsboro gave me a hassle putting it on hold because it's such a hot item. They said they were getting no more. Not sure about Beaverton or Portland, or the stores south and north of central Portland.

This is my first purchase for my home theater room. Woo Hoo.

Where did you see these? I remember then they first got the 16 when I bought mine. but was there last week and they are not where they were before, where did they move them too? As I am having an issue with mine and thinking of doing an exchange. So if you can let me know that would be great, as I am going out to the arlington tx one today. Thanks in advanced.
