Pioneer SC 1522K for $599.99 at Costco - Page 12

My local Costco has this Pioneer AVR in stock. I jumped on this and bought two of them (one for my audio setup downstairs, and the other one for my video setup, upstairs). I haven't had time to unpack them, yet. Stupid question: does anybody know if using them both within the same wireless network is an issue? Thanks!

Shouldn't be a problem using both in your network. Each unit has it's own "mac" address. You might want to change the "friendly" name for one or both to distinguish one unit from the other on your network.

Im pretty sure they both can be connected. I bought th WNCE2001 by netgear off amazon Factory refurbished for 25.49. It connected very easily to my Internet because the router was a neat gear router. It required pushing a button on the router after pushing a button on the WNCE2001 device. They synced together. I had downloaded the icontrolAV app for ios/ipad. After the WNCE2001 device had synced to the Internet it was shown on the app. Based on the use of the app I'd bet you could control several receivers, and give individual names to each (to differentiate each one).

Just in case anybody else was wondering, the answer to this question is "no".....only analog sources can be sent to Zones 2&3.

I would buy one.......but none of the Costco in southern Maryland or DC has them in stock. It seem only select stores throughout the country has them.

There are several levels of Audyssey so it's hard to compare MCACC directly.

In the research I did, it seems like Audyssey in general is a bit more highly regarded, but MCACC is thought to be respectable too. Some people reported using both and preferring MCACC so it isn't a slam-dunk for Audyssey, especially when you consider price.

No.

Everyone from the CS lady to the store manager to the cashier mentioned what a great deal this thing was. Even a customer walked by and said that's a nice toy you got there.

People do not realize what a great value this receiver is. Go to Amazon or eBay and try to find this for under $800.
This is an Elite SC-65 without the orange display, Elite name on the front pull down, blue status lights and no Air Studios certification. They weight the same and have the exact same specs and capabilities/features. And the 3rd generation of class D amps rock!.
When these are gone from Costco there will be a lot of shoulda, coulda and wouldas on the AVS FORUM !:eek.gif

How come every time I go to Costco website and look for this model it doesn't show up anything?
That's because it is a "store only" item. If you snooze you will lose!

Forget value for a second, this is a great receiver, period. I have had some really fine Hi-Fi stuff over the years like Parasound, Classe, Marantz, Proceed, and maybe I'll even count my trusty Sonance (though this is an AV installers brand, mostly), and a few other boutique tube amps. This holds its own. It is a really nice amp section. I am still impressed.

12 pages of praise should be enough to re-enforce anyone's doubts on this receiver. Hell, I just entered the market and I bought one. It's Costco - if you end up not liking it take it back.!!!!!! eek.gifeek.gifeek.gifeek.gifeek.gif

How are you doing the wireless, did you buy the adapters too? 100 plus buck did not seem worth it. Instead you can invest the same amount in a power line ethernet and wire your receivers.

I had denon 2809ci paired with my DIY ER18MTM tower, and plugged in the pioneer in this setup. The power and control of this receiver is mind blowing. Maybe it is the eq or the D3 amps, but the sound has an impact that was lacking earlier. My RS meter detected high 20s coming from my speakers! smile.gif No subwoofer needed! The highs and mids are very clean, and the bass is very fast and controlled. No bloat whatsoever. Really good price on a wonderful receiver. I probably would not have bought it at its list price, but 599 is a great deal.

Agree ver much. I am amazed by the dynamic headroom this AVR has. D3 topology, full channel power to all amps may be... watch the scene in Bourne Legacy where the drone missile hits the wooden shack in remote Alaska. This is high praise as I am coming into this from a previous Marantz, which I thought was very good, but this amp is different league.

Is this better then a denon 2112?????

Try the one in Brighton. I picked one up there about two weeks ago. They had about 10 in stock then.

Netgear and IOGear both have wireless dongles that work very well for about $35-$45 on Amazon. I got the IOGear one model GWU627. It works great and takes up very little space.
In retrospect I should have gotten the Netgear one as my router is Netgear . There is a WPS button you press on your router and this adaptor and they usually find each other. If this does not work then you can do the handshake manually with your PC or Mac. Overall very pleased with IOGear wireless adaptor. The instruction booklet that comes with it is surprisingly well written and laid out ;-)!

I checked the Naperville IL location and they had none. Does anyone know where I can pick one up? Any help would be greatly appreciated. My pioneer 1018 sort of died. The video pass through isn't working any more on it. I can still get audio through the optical cables but the hdmi video and audio isn't working so I really could use some help with this deal.
There are 8 left at Winston Salem,nc see if you can have them ship it.

Picked this receiver up on 3/23 from my local Costco. This was my first Pioneer purchase and is a great piece of equipment. I'm so impressed with the quality of the build and the sound this produces with my Def Tech system.

I just sold my 80 watt Onkyo that was in my master bd and now back to Costco to pick up another one. smile.gif

I'm willing to buy and ship units to anyone in the USA. I'm in Portland, OR. I'm slow at work and I like to help people out. That said, I will not use paypal, they're crooked. I know this ruins it for a lot but that's the deal. I have other forum references from years and years ago. Same user name, google search it.

No up tick in price, just pay the shipping. It's not a money thing for me, I've got enough money.

Hell, I don't know why I'm trying to convince you into buy the damn thing. lol... I guess I just would appreciate the same offer from another person.

**EDIT** IDEA -- call the Portland Costcos, find a unit, pay for it and send me a check for shipment. Put it under my membership, Matt W (pm for full last name) and I'll have it out to you upon payment for shipping. I'll give any doubters my home address, my business address, and any other info needed to make you feel good about it.

I know how it is to want something so bad and be so close but so far away.
