To upgrade or not from Epson 6500UB to Epson 3020?

Thanks for you advise in advance.

Looking to upgrade for 3D purposes in my dedicated theater room. Bought the Epson 6500UB with an Elite CIneWhite 106" screen from Visual Apex 3-31/2 years ago, standard ceiling mount so no need for lens shift or anything out of the ordinary. My kids love 3D movies and have been asking if we can play 3D movies upstairs in the mancave.

I watch a lot of football, blu-ray movies and my son and I play either PS3 or Xbox 360 (nothing online or competitive).

Will I see better 2D hi-def with the 3020 compared to the 6500UB or will I be giving up performance in contrast, blacks, etc? Anyone upgrading to the 3020 from the 6500UB have any experience to share?

Thanks again.

I think you should consider the Benq 1070, if you can make it work placement wise. Or, save up about $400 more dollars and consider last years Epson 5010 vs the 3020 if that's doable?

If your budget allows, should try a Sony HW30 or a used JVC. For DLP, try the BenQ w7000.
