If you read the specs on the Panasonic site, they claim different (or at least differently named filters) for the s64 and ST60. The ST does use an upgraded panel, but if the filter on the S64 fixes the mirror problem, the S64 is definitely a great bargain assuming you don't care about 3D, etc.
It turns out that I have a friend who is moving to Europe who sold me his six month old P50GT50 for $600. Luckily, I was able to cancel the order on the P50ST60. I couldn't pass up $600 as opposed to $1080 including sales tax.
The GT50 fixes the "mirror" problem I had with the S60 and it is great on THX. As I mentioned previously, I will calibrate the TV after I've lived with it for a week so I know what so I know what sources have problems.
For me I would've paid $800 for a GT50, but I'd pay the $1080 for the P50ST60 over the paying $900 for the GT50, but I can't imagine not being happy with either the GT50 or the ST60.
I don't care about 3D and I like the more straight-forward navigation and (silly as it sounds) the Netflix button on the new ST60 remote that wasn't on the GT50.
One other thing: In the HDTV Shootout, the VT50 was universally acclaimed better than any of the Samsung's by the audience and the professionals. This year the audience thought the Samsung 8500 was better than the ST60 due to the brightness of the 8500, but the pros still preferred the Panasonic. http://www.*********************
