Onkyo NR515 + PS3 - Lip Sync + Gaming

Ive been an owner for a couple of months now, and just trying to tweak the setup to get the best options.

Panny 50UT50
Onkyo NR515
5.1 Wharfedale Diamond Cinema Package
PS3

Recently changed my speakers crossover from 40hz to 100hz which seems better, but I have now found some lip sync issues.

Watching a blu ray on my PS3 the lip sync was horrible (all other blu ray discs were fine).

I adjusted the delay to 120MS so that it was better, but Im worried that it might affect other films, and I dont want to change it everytime.

Someone mentioned that I could use the 2nd HDMI port for the PS3, and advised it would improve gaming and eliminate the lip sync issue.

My question is, is that correct & does it have any other drawbacks other than not having upscaling feature?

Will I still get surround sound etc, as the PS3 is my main (only) source of watching dvd/Blu Rays?

I dont want to get another HDMI lead unless I really need to / will be worth it.

Thanks
