Guess I should clarify, listing to HTDV of OTA antenna sitting about 9 feet away. I think I have it setup right now. Ran YPAO few more times and then manually adjusted speaker distnaces. YPOA had rear speaers at about 14 feet away when in reality there only 3 to 6 feet away.
7 Speaker setup, "Straight" sound processing.
-80 db Mute
-70 db I can hear there's sound coming from the center channel but can't really understanding it. Very light whisper
-60 db Whisper. I can understand it if the room is perfectly silent and I concentrate. Sound of clicking of the keyboard is louder than the speakers
-50 db Almost conversation Level volume
-40 db conversation level as if you were talking to someone next to you.
At -20 db it's pretty loud. I probably wouldn't have it any louder than that.
So I guess from what I'm reading I have this properly calibrated. I guess my old yamaha I just never had the receiver calibrated correctly. Never had to have the volume more than 30% - 40% of max. With the V675 looks like volume more at 50%-70% of total volume.
On a nice side note, the HSU VTF3 is awesome. I don' t like a lot of bass, but that's allows a nice smooth sound that's not too boomy.
