New Da Lite 106" Screen Not Balanced

Just bought a new PJ and Da Lite motorized contour series screen. First PJ and screen purchase. Got the screen up using 2 screw eyes and 2 S hooks as the installation instructions suggested but using this method caused the screen to be unbalanced - the bottom front of the screen was thrust forward. I assumed it was like this because of the heavy wall mount bracket which the instructions suggested be left on for support. The thing was tilted so bad that the screen was rubbing the back edge of the exit chute when raising and lowering. It also looked funky. What to do? I sent several emails to Da Lite but never heard back. I sat here and mulled it over for a while and decided the simplest was to just add a zip tie to an angle bracket attached to the ceiling close to the factory bracket. Luckily there was another hole in the bracket that I could use for leverage and it seems to be working. I plan to add a valance covered in fabric to hide the screen and mounting brackets so I wasn't too worried about how it looked. Also, it is a wonder to me why they would include a black power cord with a white casing - shouldn't it be white?

Not really sure how you have that hung up, can't see much in that picture. Did you look at the instructions?

I prefer to physically screw the screen case to the ceiling ( or wall ) myself.

Yes - see page 2, ceiling hook, item 5.

Sorry about the picture - there wasn't much room but you can see the screw eye and the s hook in the center hole as described in the instructions. Just wouldn't balance this way. I had to add the zip ties with an extra bracket mounted to the ceiling.

Since it is my first screen install, I wasn't sure but I really don't see any other way to mount it so that it would have balanced.

My ceiling is not level nor is it very flat and wall mounting wasn't an option due to my plasma being directly under it - had to mount forward of the plasma.

I got it to work just don't like jury rigging if I don't have to and it just seems that it should have balanced using factory mounts and factory recommended hardware.
