Hmm, thats weird. Why would they design it like that? I mean I can use pre-outs for any speaker config I want to use when selecting 7.1ch(SB/FH/FW). So I have to use speaker terminals when using 5.1ch + Front B or 7.1ch/2ch Front for my mains and 2 speakers for Front B, I can't use pre-outs for my mains in this configuration as all 2 ch material will play through mains even when selecting Speaker B from the "Front Speaker Setup". I have to hook up my mains, plus speakers for Front B to the speaker terminals on the receiver for it to work the way it should, no way around it.
I really want to use my Rotel but seems like such as waste to be running just my center and side surrounds on it.
Its great that the Denon X4000 allows you to use different speakers up front for listening to music or other 2 Ch. sources but I wish I could use the pre-outs but I can't.
Oh, well, it still sounds good and works but not in the way I thought it would.
