these rating #'s these days are way off in a modern world of satellites, web sites , DVR's , on-demand & mobile devices
Those numbers should include same-day DVR playback until 3 a.m. So I'm theoretically represented by those numbers, since I watched it before 3 a.m. on my DVR on Saturday night.
Also, those are just the numbers that *WE* see. You can bet that BBC America sees ALL of the numbers, including the 12 midnight airings for the west coast and Thursday encores, and will make its judgment based on everything. Just because we don't get to see all the numbers doesn't mean they're not out there and being collected. I'm puzzled that people don't seem to understand this. Lots of people keep saying "ratings are broken! Nielsen is dumb!" Wait, do you REALLY think nobody's paying attention to Hulu views or On Demand views or iTunes revenue? Really?!
Anyway, great show. This episode was the best yet. Maslany is excellent is all these different roles. I wish the initial numbers were higher and we can only hope and speculate that it does well On Demand, on iTunes or whatever, etc., since we don't get to see that stuff. But you can bet BBC America sees it all. It's not exactly difficult to count pageviews on sites like Hulu.
