Looking for new 2013 receiver?

I'm looking for a new 2013 receiver but I have some requirements.

#1 It needs to use banana plugs.

#2 It has to have some type of virtual surround sound mode for headphones.

#3 Easy bass and treble controls.

#4 Price limit is around 350 but the cheaper the better.

Does anyone know if the new 2013 Sony STR-DH740 has a virtual surround mode for headphones?

Do sony receivers also feature easy bass and treble controls?

Last year's Denon 1613 would fit the bill to include networking and Audyssey MultEQ. Likely can be found on clearance for under your budget.

The new Sony's look nice. I believe the bass/treble controls are on the remote.

I just bought this sony from amazon. The bass, treble controls are a few button pushes away.First push amp menu on remote then scroll down to eq,then push enter on remote. Then adjust bass, treble.Imho the sound quality is excellent. It also has hdmi overlay for all menus and volume. The sony dcac, auto setup is fast and accurate.Don`t let all the sony naysayers influence you!I payed less than $300.00 with free shipping. You can adjust bass treble and most other settings without the tv on.It has a sony headphone mode for headphone listening. You can have surround back, front high,or speaker b speaker outputs.

I have owned kenwood, marantz, sony, and yamaha. my old yamaha rxv-467 blew them away performance wise...my new rx-773 is even another step up. Now I have not listened to all the latest 2013 brand avr's but in the past, the yamahas seem to have the stongest amps when comparing similar models.

nice, looks to be for 4K displays.
guess that means newer 1040 and a new 840 will be out soon.

Thanks so much for the info.

Does the sony headphone mode simulate surround sound on any pair of headphones then?

What do you guess the price and release date will be for the STR-DH840? My limit is around 350 I hope I can afford it.
