Self-Reverting Back To Firmware Defaults
Other Weird Occurrences
First thing this morning I noticed that my 3500 was off; Which it should have been.
Awhile later I noticed that it had turned on and the HD light was flickering. Which it should not have been.
I did have a scheduled test daily recording set but that was not to occur for another hour. It was only for a 5 minute test of a 24 hour news and weather station. I choose that station for testing because it has a running clock with date constantly displayed.
Being curious as to what was gong on I turned on the 3500. Sure enough it was recording but in the "time-shift" mode on a station that was not my test station.
First I looked at my schedule page to see if my test recording was still there.
It was, but with part of the schedule info missing. See photo.
Checking further here is a list of what I discovered:
CC was ON
Time changed from Pacific to Central
Daylight Time OFF Was set to On
Country changed from USA to Mexico
Modulation changed from Loop through to Ch-3 On
Time shift Size changed from 4.0GB to 1.0GB
Stations I had flagged to SKIP Now, half were no longer flagged.
Ever since day one with this STB and following this thread I've noted that there has been any number of weird things happening with not only my box but from reading reports from other users.
I had pretty much contributed those happenings to the unstable firmware we were all working with. Seemed to me that all the instability with settings getting changed were or could be related to many of the issues that caused the 3500 to either freeze or lock-up. I personally had the Time Zone and country settings change in the Set-Up menu.I've seen where Skipped or Deleted channels reverted back to being there.
Since I have not had one single lock-up or any other type problem since installing V3.? (AKA Version 8) this occurrence, this morning, has me perplexed.
Could be that my 3500 has a problem.
The AC In my house is very clean and all my Home Entertainment equipment, including a HTPC is connected to the same AC circuit leg. No other component has ever suffer a power related problem.
Has anyone else noticed any instability issues???
