Late to the party. Of course you should have stayed with v9. Didn't you read my posts, you commented on them.
But don't worry, we should have v9 back again, in a day or 2, Iview said she would send it to me on friday.
I saw you write about the usb hard drive not turning off, from my standpoint , who cares, I have hard drives in my pc and nas turned on all the time, doesn't bother me at all.
My advice , if you read my last posts is that I installed homeworx firmware (only do this is you have homeworx remote or harmony remote) on the iview until iview get's their act together. I have one homeworx and one iview and both have homeworx on it, and no problems. But I am just using OTA.
It would be nice if we could hack the firmware but I did put it in hex editor and that is not the way to go. It seems like linux commands , or bootloader is linux from what I can tell. And it is suppose to be open source , by law, I think.
I think the feeling is at this point is some changes were done to the 2nd version of the iview, just like for the 2nd version of the homeworx. And homeworx newest firmware works on the 2nd version units. Although earlier versions of firmware might seem to work at first, give it time. Then you will run into problems. I did.
Hopefully IVIEW wants to get "new business" and will release firmware for new units, or we will have to recommend homeworx 2nd version units. It is fixable, but , iview just doesn't know how to edit their website or their firmware.Edited by rgtaa - 11/18/13 at 11:54am
