The Latest Beta Firmware Release
Version 7 Functionality Problems.1)
Can Be Downloaded From Post #5 ... Page 1
Scheduled a recording from 2300 to 0000 hours. The one hour program recorded but the DVR did not
shut down afterwards. DVR kept recording until having to be manually stopped the next morning. I tested three times- failed three times2)
Can not schedule daily and/or weekly program recordings.
The first event records but does not record the next day or the next week.
It's reported that what should be the next day it is internally set to record 6 days later (not 24 hours later) . On a weekly schedule it records the first event and the event for the next week is internally set for day 12 (not 7 days later)3)
EPG Related Problem - Text in right pane of EPG screen displays for the selected program but is not completely purged and continuous to show-up in all subsequent info screens. This even spans different channels.4)
EPG Hang-Up Problems - 3500 tends to lock-up while making requests to display numerous program info screens.
When locked-up there is no way to recover except to press POWER button on case or to wait for the 3500 to automatically reboot after 45 to 50 seconds.5)
Clear QAM Problems - Experienced with V7, in Cable / Clear QAM mode, it will only record from the station in the first slot.
Ie: Set a program to record, say on channel "PR10011" and it shows up as expected and works fine. Then change the order of the channels so that PR50011 is now in the #1 slot, the original program channel changes to PR50011 and when the proper time/date arrive, the program on PR50011 is what is recorded.
I've also found that, over time, all the XX-NN channels have changed to 7-NN, which is weird but the labels PRxxxxxx have stayed consistent, so not a huge issue.6)
With cable and OTA, - -sub-channels reappearing after being deleted. "SKIP" channel option works.7)
With Cable - I've also seen channels being re-arranged. Ie: A channel that was at the top of the list (COO1) drops down 1/2 way in the list to be around the other sub-channels of the parent channel.8)
Channel selection Hang-Ups. Using the remote to change channels initially it works to enter the numbers and the dash (info key) to select stations. Either after a while or after making several selections or mistakes the 3500 goes into a lock-up mode and channel selection via the remote stops working and the only way to recover is to power off the 3500.Items Apparently Corrected With V7a)
Scheduling hang-ups - It looks as if there isn't a problem with scheduling several events at one time and having the 3500 hang-up in the "Scheduled" pageb)
. EPG program information text that spans more one page (1 of 2, 1 of 3, 2 of 4, etc) can now be viewed with the "Page -" and "Page +" remote buttons.
