Okay. And you base you above on what metrics when comparing amplification, depth of reach and +/-3dB frequency response?

Guys guys, unless he's trying to combat sub localization, what's wrong with getting the 12D and pairing it with the 1200? confused.gif

Absolutely nothing. confused.gif

Personally, as long as one has room analyzing capabilities and the subs are complimentary to each other, there's nothing wrong with mixing and matching subwoofers because with room analyzing capabilities, one will know exactly where they stand in the sonic chain of it all.

Thats a no brainer.....the BIC F-12 is way better.

I've been PM'ing with Caloyzki quite a bit lately, but I am not much of a help when it comes to subwoofers.

As you all know he currently has a Dayton sub1200. He has 4 options:

1. Least expensive option - Supplement it with an energy XL-S10 for $50 used.

2. Supplement it with another Dayton sub1200.

3. He has an offer to get 2 BIC F-12's for around $300 used.

4. The Klipsch RW-12D for $279.

Which option would you go with?

Is the quality of the F-12's much better than the Energy or Dayton to warrant the extra cost?

I know there's no simple answer to the 1 better sub vs. 2 less expensive subs. I think we've seen that on the last page.

Thanks guys. This is all informative to me as well.

Just out of curiosity, are you taking the time to compare posted specifications?

Energy ESW-C10

vs

BIC, F12.
