And we're off! I've signed papers with Dennis, and have provided him with most of the information requested (still need to do a quick video of the space). Am really looking forward to seeing how this goes!
I need to clarify with Dennis what is appropriate to share from the process (especially around plans), but I will happily share what I can. To start, here are some pictures of the space now that the pipe and asbestos have been removed (gory pictures can be found earlier in the thread). You'll also note some orange markings on the floor — they're a rough approximation of what I initially imagined, but likely will not represent reality once we're all said and done.
This diagram should help you navigate the pictures below:
View of door to basement stairs (from kitchen).
View of door to basement stairs (from dining room). Also shows wall between kitchen and dining room that may eventually be removed.
Top of stairs looking down. Somewhat narrow, which is why they might get redone one day.
Bottom of stairs looking down.
Bottom of stairs looking ahead.
Bottom of stairs, looking back and slightly right toward HT space. Orange box on floor represents bar counter where people can sit, facing screen.
Turning a little bit more right, now parallel to back wall of HT space. Counter space on left, walkway between, planned counter on right (when washer/dryer moved).
Standing in left side of back of HT, looking toward screen wall. Standing in front of the sink.
Standing in right side of back of HT, looking toward screen wall. Basically standing in front of the freezer.
Looking back toward freezer. So, standing with screen wall at back, on left side of the pit. You can see one of the posts (in white, right edge of picture) that will need to be removed. To try and reduce cost, the one at the back is intended to be incorporated into the counter space.
Standing again with screen wall at back, this time on right side of the pit. You can see another of the posts (in red) that will need to be removed.Edited by avrignaud - 6/24/13 at 3:56pm
