HW 50 vs. all others

Couple of things, RC is a trump card. almost no other projector has the sharpness this provides. Period. Its the main ingrendent for me that even makes a projector feasiable.
I sit 11 feet from Direct t. and its the worse feed but it looks good, not blue ray but very good.
the 5020 6020 can not even get in the ball park with the crispness and sharpness.
Contrast is also better. then 3d the epson turns off any help and 3d is so much sharper on the sony because it keeps Motion Enhancment and RC. I had both in house and did a mini review. Search my post.
I am a black level fanatic, with a BD 1.4 Screen inavtions I have no fear of watching any movie.
Movies like friday the 13 and such. On my samsung lcd the blacks were good but not great, and I did not like watching that type of movie because of grayesh blacks. There are no gray blacks with the sony and bd. They are black and exclent.
Does the jvc win here. I would guess but I have not seen one my self. But I have no desire for a better projector or black levels.
Its an amazing little machine.
Price,,,,,,,,, man you better call Mike at av since here on the form. If the lamp deal is still going you wont belive how good the price and customer service.

Good for you.

I can't stop looking for the next one. After owning all kind of pj's under $10k, JVC's crt-black is mesmerizing, though my current one is a Sony VW85, upgrading from a JVC RS20.

Now I just need to find a "cheap" JVC in the used market as a backup, or a BenQ W1070 for 3D,

I concur, the HW50 is a great projector. It works very well in a family room or dedicated theater. RC was also a huge selling point for me. I came from an Infocus X10 and the Sony is just as sharp if not sharper with RC. If you haven't already you should really consider getting a Darbee, its a killer combination. cool.gif

Got the Darbee. It has its place and can be helpful, but quite frankley I think the 50 is better without it in the line. I do use it with my xbr65hx929

Interesting... I'm using a 159" HP screen so maybe that's why I'm seeing the benefits of RC and Darbee. Maybe I should have said if you have a large screen, RC and the Darbee makes for a fantastic combo! biggrin.gif
