You can't tell if they're "better built" by looking at stock photos.

Plus the lower end and even mid range Polks can be a little bright for many people. The Cambridge by all reports has a much more balanced and refined sound.

If you don't need the bass response the NHT SuperZero is a great sounding speaker.

i agree with rdclark the sm450s are a great speaker for the price,i have had the sm350s for front channel for around 10 years, right now iam using them for surround duties because i now have ascend speakers for my fronts.

Joe,

Check these out. I bought a pair a couple of weeks ago for my rears in my main room, and liked them so much I just bought another pair. For 149.99 (which is half price, closeout) a 45 day trial period, and the free shipping they might be worth a shot.. I ordered on a Wed and received them on Sat. Good company to deal with. This was my third purchase from them..

I noticed those SVS speakers only have a 82db sensitivity. Do you have to crank your receiver pretty high to make them sound good?

Not at all, at least not in my setup. Running Audessy, it put the Analog to +2 and the Digital to +3db. They balanced well with my Paradigm system. I use them as rears. The second pair will be in my "guitar room" hooked for 2.1 stereo..

Forgot to add, you can run them for 45 days, and if you don't like them, send them back for a full refund. No brainer in my mind..

82DB is extremely inefficient.
