I just purchased a home and was trying to find a mount that I could mount my 46" Samsung above the fireplace mantel. After searching and searching I came across the Down and Out mount from http://www.DynamicMounting.com. This looked exactly what I was looking for. I did not want to have a kink in my neck when watching TV. It is pricey for a mount so I searched and searched for something else and could only find 1 other mount that was close. After a lot of back and forth I decided on the Dynamic Mount as it looked more durable. I decided to go with the Swivel Mount. I couldn't be happier. I have it installed and it can drop down from above the mantel and turn to the right. Make sure you follow the instructions to a T. Go to the website and download the Template for the Mounting Brace. This will come in handy when placing the mount.
Make sure to follow the formula for the depth of the mantel to the height above the mantel for the proper placement to allow for the drop of the mount.
**Make a note that were you mount this to the wall it sits lower than most mounts (Basically the bottom of the TV or close to it) so if you mount it above your Cable access like other mounts you will end up seeing the cables.
I did have a slight issue.**The instructions tell you to mount the TV side brackets as high as you can on the TV.** I did measure from the bottom of the TV to the bottom of the mount and had enough clearance from the formula on the chart. After hanging mounting, ect there was something wrong with the mount. It would not lock in the up position. I Emailed support late Saturday night. I had a response back Sunday morning. What they suggested was not the issue but was nice for the quick response. I found that when you measure, make sure to leave a few inches extra from the base of your TV to the Mantel as it needs room to lock into place. I thought I was going to have to move the mount and re drill all the holes. Dang.
Then it dawned on me. Move the TV mount up on the TV a little bit. Easy Fix. It does cause the TV to be a little more tilted down in the Up position, but not a big deal. I am Very pleased with the mount and would recommend to someone else.
