Is there any vertical or horizontal banding with this set?

I haven't seen any banding on my set. I ran a bunch of tests from the Disney WOW disc and it looked like a pretty flawless image by all accounts.

Picked up the 55" inch LA6200 from best buy this weekend. Got them to price match amazon.
So far I'm impressed. Turned off truemotion and tweeked other settings, but I need to get that WOW disc that everyone speaks of.
Black levels are not as deep as the plasma it's replacing, but not bad by any means.
Good details in the blacks/dark areas.
No flashlighting and looks uniform across the screen.
Haven't played any games on it and haven't got it on-line to check out the apps yet.
Watched Tangled on 3D blu-ray and it looked great. Watched the last few episodes of Bates Motel on FiOS and looked great also.

My negatives so far:
1. Sound is not so great. I'll be hooking up my new speakers this week so no big deal really.
2. Only three HDMI's and no VGA input. Not a big deal, but still.
3. Wished I got the 60" version. But this will hold me over until 4k or OLED reaches my price range.

Yes the disney WOW disc is a must have for proper TV calibration..

I will be picking up a 55 inch at Best Buy tonight and if I have time will post my calibrated picture settings..

Does anyone have any pictures they can post of this thing? Preferrably in a dark room so as to judge flashlighting/light bleed..

Just thought I'd share some of the settings on mine since I can't find any calibration settings anywhere online. I used the AVS HD 709 calibration disk and with the ISF 1 mode it all looked pretty close to spot on. The picture is GORGEOUS. I've watched the Avengers about two dozen times since smile.gif

ISF 1
Backlight 50
Contrast 99
Brightness 52
H Sharpness 10
V Sharpness 10
Warm 2 setting
Tru motion off
Real cinema on
Color Bt709
Gamma 2.2
Black level low
All other "enhancements off"
Enjoy smile.gif

All of that is basically selected with ISF 1 anyway. Just change the brightness and contrast. Turn off try motion and turn on Real Cinema and turn off edge enhancement. Everything should be spot on. Compared with my last LG I was actually shocked how accurate the color values and grey scale were just with that tiny bit of callibrating. Try the calibration disk and see for yourself

Just hooked mine up and have HUGE light bleed issued on bottom left and top right of tv!!!

I have never seen such a blotchy screen!! How can u guys say that this thing is uniform??
Keep in mind this isn't using a lagless monitor, but it's a miniscule amount. In Game mode, It fluctuated between 33-55ms lag. After turning off the super resolution and edge enhancement that are auto on in the game mode however, it pretty consistently stays around 30ms which isnt too shabby.

You may have something defective with yours. I have no issues with mine. The screen, lighting, and colors are fantastic (especially for the price)

Yeah that's pretty bad. You may want to exchange that. Occasionally on an all black screen there is the slightest bit of light bleed on the bottom left, but most of the time its all very uniform

And in EXPERT MODE with all the auto-enhancements OFF (true motion, dynamic contrast, etc) and change the label the hdmi to "PC" hoy ms do you get?

Same thing actually. So it appears there's nothing special to the different modes other than precalibrated picture qualities and enhancements. Game mode already has most everything turned off. So it looks like any lag is tied to all the different enhancement processes. But turn them off and you're good to go with just about a 2-3 frame lag
post #82 of 670
Hi, is there a USB input ? I am starting to lean towards this particular set... the 60 incher looks awesome ! It's odd how there are almost no reviews anywhere for the LA6205's... is your model the 6200 or the 6205 and do you know what the difference is ? In Canada, Best Buy and similar chains started selling the 6205 series a few weeks ago..

Thanks smile.gif

just bought this tv and returned the lg lm6700. gotta say i am very pleased with this tv. cannot tell a difference in pq but see many improvements in areas of loading and responsiveness of remote control. however for some reason this 47 inch is smaller than the 47 inch i just returned......

I'd exchange that. My 60" looks nothing like that. My previous edge lit LG was much worse though. I personally wouldn't tolerate it.

Set handles motion like a champ but the light bleed on mine has totally ruined this tv for me
