Need new receiver

I'm long overdue for a new HT reciever. I currently have an older (~2002-2003) Sony 5.1 channel with component video inputs. I'm looking to upgrade to something that does HDMI switching, since everything I own these days uses HDMI. I'd like to future proof my setup as much as possible, but real unsure of which route I should take.

I had my sights set on the RX-V673 and found a real good deal on it back around Christmas of last year. Should have jumped on it, but I didn't. Now, it's a little more than I want to spend. I could drop down to a 5.1 surround RX-V model and save some cash since that is all I have now, but not sure if this is smart or will have me wanting to upgrade to 7.x. I'd also like it to support the newer formats (3D/4K) in the event I upgrade my TV.

This will connect a HTPC, XBOX 360, Bluray player, and Dish reciever to a 50 Panasonic Plasma. Suggestions?

So just found a pretty good deal on the 673 again, so I may go that route. That link was interesting though - wish I had a costco closer to go check out.

The deal just got better on the rx-v673. $357.76 with free shipping from amazon. It dropped from $390 on Friday.
