Which one would you rather get?

TCP55ST60 is $200 cheaper at a local electronics shop.

Sharper image, greater black, with 2 x glasses VS 5 inches bigger?

eek.gif help.

If the 55ST60 is $200 cheaper than the 60ST50, then the 60ST60 can't be much more right?

I would wait for the that to be available. biggrin.gif (or go with the 55")

Get a 60" or even look into a 65" if you have the room. Buying a TV too small accounts for most people's buyer remorse. I don't know why but people tend to really underestimate TV sizes a lot. I just had a friend who dropped close to a grand on a LED last year and the thing wasn't even 50". This was for a regular living room (9ft+ viewing). Fast forward he's really disappointed he bought a TV that small and really need something in the 55" range.

The amount of time you spend watching the thing, you shouldn't go small. You will almost always adjust even if you buy something on the big size.

I am going to venture a guess and say becasue the ST60 seems to be a real improvement over the ST50 ratehr than jsut an "incremental" one.....Its all in what you prefer however. The ST50 will be a great set, no doubt about it and will give you a more immersive experience. The ST60 however will provide you with a better picture and more ways to improve that picture.

As it was said earlier most of the time TV dissatisfaction is related to choosing the TV that is smaller, very rarely do you see someone say "I went too big"....In the end there are many factors involved, the size of TV youre coming from, the size of the room youll be putting the set into, as well as viewing distance.

With the improvements made to the ST60 however, I might sacrive the size for the quality of picture wink.gif or just wait (if youre not in a rush) to see if you can get a deal on a 60ST60 in the future.....

BTW if you ar ein the US I might also suggest waiting to see the 60S64 which is the club version of the S60 since it will have the same filter as the ST60...It wont have the otehr features, but so far there have been many happy people with the S60 performance....just a little mroe to think about wink.gif

Pretty much for the attributes you listed in your first post wink.gif

They outweigh the extra 5" of screen size for me, but how important are those extra 5 inches to YOU? They're not important to me, but i'm surely in the minority. Do you have any other reasons to choose the 60" ST50 over the smaller ST60?
