I have done my twice a year sweep looking for new internet providers in my area (NW Ohio, cow country but the cows left years ago) -- well, one new player, a woods between my property and the tower nixes that --
There is a long shot outside chance that my current supplier, a fixed wireless cable modem arrangement will up their game. Their territory is being encroached by other players with better cheaper service, but just not where I live. They also have a wireless cable TV service that they are dropping, so they will make it in internet or not at all.
A bit on the devious side, my wife's employer wants her to conduct telemedicine from home -- well not with this ISP. I might split a T3 line with them. Many dollars, but I might just do it.
Back to the thread topic -- physical media is very safe with me until decent broadband arrives. At my place all of the streaming happens down at the river. I hear that the fish really like it, but they won't talk to me.
