Bah.. please stop dismissing people's complaints about input lag. Just because YOU don't notice it, doesn't mean nobody else does. Heck, I am not even suggesting it's too slow for gaming. But it's there, and it's not fixed, and it COULD be fixed relatively easily by addressing the Smart TV bloatware.
Seriously. Hook your PC up to it for a few hours and see how long you can tolerate the lag. If you don't notice it, you probably don't belong in an "input lag" complaint thread.
I don't think the problem here is whether or not there is noticeable lag. There is. People notice it. End of story. What we should really be focusing in on is leveraging Panasonic to provide customers with options by way of firmware upgrade. Really, that's all any of us need, and it will put these discussions to rest and give everyone maximum flexibility. I, for one, will never use Smart TV features. Therefore, I would love the reduced lag from disabling it. Many customers would. Why NOT?
okay number one, I did not dismiss peoples complaints about input lag. I have merely been posting my findings and made a statement that the severity of the input lag has been overblown by certain things which it has.
I have hooked up my PC for more than several hours because that is what I use to game the most. I did not experience input lag and FYI this is not an input lag complaint thread. This is a forum not a place to whine about your problems. Its for anyone to report their experiences with the TV and there are a TON of people coming to this specific thread reading it and freaking out about the input lag and either not buying the TV or worrying way to much about the input lag. (something I did for awhile) Im sharing my experiences so that people can read them and maybe then people like me wont read the rest and not buy the TV because of the minority out of the majority of people who find the TV has to much input lag to play on.
I do not use the smarttv features either but I am not sure how a small number out of all the ST60 owners out there are going to leverage Panasonic, a company which is shutting down its plasma line
