I just got through watching The Great Gatsby and the picture on this movie is amazing. Reference material for sure I rented it so only evaluated the 2d now I need to get the 3d version just to use it to show off what kind of picture this tv is capable of. The movie itself wasn't bad but the picture and contrast/colors are amazing.

FWIW...on the Panasonic web site for the VT60, there's and Ask & Answer tab. As to the question of whether you're covered by the Panasonic warranty if you buy the TV from an "unauthorized" dealer, here's Panasonic's answer:
"As long as you have a proof of purchase showing that you bought the TV as new and you are within the warranty period, you are covered by the warranty."

Maybe I will give PC Richards a call cause they had the lowest price by far I have found that is a reliable place compared to a shady place like ECTV. I want to see if I come in there and want to buy something but tell them ill go elsewhere maybe they will make a little deal with me.
Besides Chris I wouldn't mind getting it from value electronics either. But everyone is Around the same price And Amazon doesn't charge tax. At least it didn't when I went through the checkout process just to see. Hoping it comes
Down like 2-300$ for Colombus Day cause I will get it from Amazon with 4-5 year warranty.

Funny thing is Chris usually charges close to same price as ECTV'if you look at actual invoice from shippers for what its insured for. Difference is shipping it would seem. Also i would gladly pay the hundred or so dollar difference to dela with chris then shady ECTV. Shipping receipt via any reputable seller will be insured and usually is insured for the actual tvs sale value.

The movie is ridiculous. The music (dubstep? euro house/trance? hip hop?) is completely out of place, though I know this is Baz Luhrman's specialty. I did finally enjoy the ending after the over-the-top presentation through the majority of it. Great PQ, for sure, that was made for sets like ours (ZT60 in my case).

Get ready for your face to fade away as the IR will, you can watch normal TV and it will go away as well......

Yeah it went away comelpetely after about an hour of screen wipe. Working on training the wife to jsut be "aware". Ive seen her leave **** paused for 8 hours while i was at work before. I would hate to leave for deployment(in the navy) and come back to the results of 9 months of these bad habits.

No one else has seen this? I'm not using an open connection and did punch in my password, so I'm not sure why some things on the browser work and others give me this error.
no one?

Amazon doesn't charge tax (like most nation-wide online retailers) because you're supposed to mark it on your taxes and then pay accordingly then.

Amazon charges sales tax in 12 states -- or for about 160 million people -- or about half the population of the US. wink.gif

Maybe it's just me, but every device that is part of my system, including the tv, has a screen saver that can be set to kick in after a (very) few minutes. They all seem to work. (Well not so sure about the vcr, but it's been ages since that's been turned on.)

(I think my wife's afraid to use it, don't think she's touched it since I got it 2 months ago. She has watched it though.)

Does it matter if I use the Cinema or Custom mode to use the cnet settings. Cnet uses cinema but I actually would like to use custom since that's what it iis. A custom setting. It just seems once you change the gamma they are the exact same unless something else is different.

I have managed to catch an example of this "Line Bleed Fault" As you can see from the attached photos, it shows up worst when White Text scrolls up on a solid background colour as can be seem here in the attached photos.

It's as if the Peak White Text is attenuating the remained of the horizontal lines and hence decreasing the brightness of the rest of that lines producing darkened horizontal strips moving up the picture with the scrolling text?

It almost like the set can't produce enough power to illuminate the remaining pixels once peak white is reached by others in that row?

I've never seen this effect on my other Plasma Televisions I've owned?

Could this be a fault with the Panel / Power Supply?

Or the way the New Panels have been designed to make these more energy efficient I ask?

For a Top End Panasonic Television costing over £2,200 it's not very good and I've only just noticed this fault occurring!

Not sure the best place to put this post. If a moderator wants to move it please do. I just wall mounted my 65" VT60 and have a free stand if someone needs it. You pay for the shipping & I will box it up in bubble wrap for you. smile.gif

That's completely normal. Especially with Panasonic. And I got news for you. It's greatly improved compared to my vt30. Greatly improved.

Plugging in settings is a crapshoot. But it does matter which mode you use. What you're doing when entering settings are offsets... ie, giving more red here or less blue there to balance white; or increasing/decreasing saturation/hue/luminance of your primaries and secondaries, or raising/lowering luminance at certain stimuli to give you the proper gamma. So unless Cinema and Custom mode are exactly the same, you cannot plug in settings from one preset to another.

sound like the overall statement is that 50hz is handled better than it was in the 2012 models.

It looks to me the only differences are in pro settings. Once adjusting those the settings look exactly the same. I don't know I'll just use cinema. Lol.

What is the difference between pixel orbiter on and auto

On means the orbiter is on.
Auto means its off.

I would assume auto would mean it's not exactly off but recognizing full screen images which would be when it's off. But I wanted more clarity. Auto doesn't mean off.
